    Helix 9

Voltage alarm threshold can be set. I turned my off. Would go off sometimes when starting the battery. This was even with a new battery and heavy gauge wiring. I keep an eye on my voltage too make sure I don't get too low. To the OP. Do you (or will you) run a Minn-Kota iPilot Link trolling...

The Lakemaster data can't be shared on your units. Only Onix/Solix units can share map contour data. You should be able to share waypoints and possibly some sonar data. Are you linking them together directly or through an Ethernet hub?

Spooling Line Counters - Cold Water Reels - Braid vs Mono vs Leadcore

I have always used 10lb Fireline on my linecounters (with a mono backing to fill the spool). I also use about a 6' (arms length) florocarbon leader. I think that helps add a little give to the setup since Fireline has no stretch.

    Hummingbird electronics

You could put the SI transducer on the bow mount trolling motor. I only have SI on the transom so I have no experience with it. SI does require some dedication to learn and benefit from. I probably use SI more for hunting then use 2D/DI while fishing. Using SI in the bow would come down to: -...

    Tools on the boat

When I got my new boat last year, I took everything out of the old and made a list. Combined it with some things I thought were missing and came up with this. Most of the tools are in one of these Plano boxes: Keep a towel, extra rain jacket, and some spare clothes in one of these dry...

    Strictly Sonar: Lowrance/Bird/Garmin

What kind of bottom reading issues are you seeing? Humminbird has released a couple software updates over the winter that were suppose to address issues with 2D sonar in shallow water (under 10'). I know my Helix 7 would sometimes show a double bottom and the depth reading would be twice the...

    Rewiring Boat - Aux Electronics

I ran all my accessories through a Blue Sea Systems fuse block: https://www.bluesea.com/products/5026/ST_Blade_Fuse_Block_-_12_Circuits_with_Negative_Bus_and_Cover I also picked up one of their battery switches so I can completely kill power to everything. Fuse block, motor, and factory boat...

    North Dakota has worst drivers

I agree. I feel part of the problem is getting your license is almost too easy. Also after you get it you really aren't ever re-tested (assuming you don't loose it). Not one for getting the gov't more involved in our lives but I don't think it would be such a bad deal to have mandatory...

    3 bank charger

Had a Minn Kota 3 bank/5 amp (MK315D) on my last boat for almost 8 years with no issues (sold the boat). New boat has a Minn Kota Precision 3 bank/10 amp (MK330PC) that has been working fine. Whatever you get, I recommend getting at least 10 amp/bank if you fish multiple days in a row. When I...

Thumbs up to DROCK ice center!

I called them a couple years ago asking about fuel leaking on my Solo powered Strikemaster. They recommend a carb kit and replacing fuel lines. Had parts in a couple days which solved the problem. Great customer service.
