    Hang-On Tree Stand (think light)

No screw in steps? Then I like to use landscaping spikes. Ladder stand is too clumsy and makes too much noise. Branches and other crap gets tangled in the steps. I have a few but they pretty much get put out and stay for the year. Lone Wolf really makes the best product for what you're after...

    New SD Members Group

Well, that's not quite as bad as Fargo... Gotta go where the works at. I'd be up for a pheasant hunt late in the year or maybe some ice fishing if you get up this way.

    Hang-On Tree Stand (think light)

Lone Wolf for sure. I have some Gorilla's but they are heavy. I have a couple older Cabelas aluminums that are really light but I don't think they are made any more. The other thing you could do is use any hang on and attach it to your pack. I would use screw in steps and leave them in the tree...

    Toby and the Infamous Ban-Hammer!!!

I've been in Red Lodge for a week. Checked this forum out so decided to look at FBO out of curiosity and to see how much things have changed in the week. I went back to the second photo page to see the same photos from before I left. It wasn't too long ago you would have to go back two pages in...

What you broke this year ??

Broke a Fenwick Eagle GT yesterday; forgot it in the bow mount rod holder when I backed into the garage. Heard a little something, jumped out and got there just in time to see the 'snap', as it was lodge between the boat floor and the garage door.

    For once some good luck

I don't think your hair is long enough; there were two hair ties tied around the handle.

    Raccons w/ disease

Skunks during the day is almost always associated with rabies (95%), I believe it's similar with coons. No sense in taking chances, shoot and minimize the risk.

    Impulse buy....

That's a true gem. I would never sell it. Take it ice fishing and you can 'troll'.

    For once some good luck

About two weeks ago I caught someone's Cabelas DepthMaster rod and reel combo. Sometimes one persons bad luck is anothers good luck. Kind of like when you found that floating depth finder in Mobridge.

    fish measuring board?

I've got the inside lid of my live well marked with important lengths, ie. 14, 16, 20 and so forth. That way I'll never lose it and I can toss the fish in or out kind of in the same motion.

    Filet Wars

Well, I forgot... I've got a 'shark blade (or something similar) coming for the American Angler. That things gonna be smoking fast now. Wonder if it'll cook the fillets?

    Filet Wars

17 years and you are done is pretty good! I have some questions; only a few pertain to fishing!

    Filet Wars

12 years? That's not too bad really. I was in the same boat until I tried one; anyone that thinks they are faster with a fillet knife, I've got a 100 that says they aren't. And that goes along with end results; there is no meat left behind (unless there's too much alcohol involved).

    Filet Wars

I haven't timed myself; will have to try that sometime. With my American Angler without trying to be fast I suspect I'm pretty close to there speed. For WIW, caught my second tagged fish of the year today; 16 5/8 about two miles up the Grand. He is not going to be present for future research.

    Would you rather........

I typically do 2 hours, most times that counts leaving the house, fishing, cleaning the fish, and putting the boat away. It's about perfect if there is any bite at all going on. Leaves time for a cycle ride and then working on that 'honey do' thing.
