    Buddy got a similar albeit smaller wound on our dock from a big pike back when we were kids. Just sitting there and the pike came up for a taste. The pike bite was extremely weak and it was more his reaction jerking of his foot back that caused most of the cuts.

    If you get a bleeder you can always hit the bleeding spot with a carbonated drink. The co2 causes the blood vessels in that area to constrict thus more or less cauterizing the wound instantly. Not sure if it wears off once back in the water or if you hit all the gills if it wouldn't eventually...

    They hit with so much power that they tend to blow the targets out faster. As for the permit that's kind of a BS rule since anyone can use a crossbow for deer hunting in the Nov season if they wanted no permit required not to mention varmint hunting or hunting out of state.
