Thoughts? Is it that bad in MSP that the cops are that jumpy? I have heard that her phone may of been her demise. They already have cheap software/cams to detect guns -- why put it aboard.

It will be interesting when the story comes out --- it will be one sided but how do you turn that story around.

Maybe the scum leaders/politicians or that are in place in Minneapolis will realize you cant push diversity especially in a police force job. The mayor has been pushing for diversity in the police force so they have hired immigrants who have been just ran through a short training course. It sounds like both of these officers were immigrants and the one who shot that guy just last year was also an immigrant. Not saying immigrant cops can't or won't do a good job, but it's not an issue that can be pushed or forced

Black Somali cop shoots white Aussie female and yet I'll guarantee somehow it's going to be the Second Amendment fault! Because lord knows had we had stricter gun laws we could have kept the guns out of that cops hands!

The way it's been described I wonder if he didn't draw thinking there was danger coming and accidentally discharged the weapon because he had his finger in a stupid place to have it and damn near shot his partner in the process!

Ethnicity and skin color aside, I almost always fall in line with the cops. Wouldn't want their job. It's got to be incredibly tough, dangerous, stressful, the list goes on and on.

99% of the time, I think the cops are right, and doing a good job.

He was pushed into a job he couldn't handle just so the higher ups could crow about how culturally diverse Minneapolis is.

Please avoid putting all cops in any category. Most of us do the job to the best of our ability and fear the day we may have to draw and fire our weapon. There are nuts in any business and we have done our best to weed out the undesirables but we make mistakes, like anyone else. I agree that lowering the standards in order to comply with affirmative actions has degraded the quality of entry candidates
but we all are required to deal with it. Not my choice, but that of politicians and fringe groups. I am honored to have served 40 years in law enforcement and have always considered my best weapons my brain and my mouth. I have always prided myself in the ability to suggest someone go to hell, and have them enjoy the trip.
