This a good deal on a Hummingbird?

Kind of what I was thinking. If you are on a tight budget I would just skip the DI and go with the Helix 5 GPS for $30 more then that 688xi...

    Smokercraft guages

ADM: I'm assuming you are referring to Mercury SmartCraft series gauges? Those are their gauges with digital displays on them. I have no first hand experience with them but found a good video on YouTube showing a Merc 150 with the a SmartCraft gauge with the troll feature. According to the...

Trouble with Minnkota Terrova US2 transducer

With the unit on (and sonar on) can you hear any ticking noises coming from the Terrova transducer? I usually can pickup a very light with fast pace "tick, tick, tick" when the transducer is operating.

    Ditch Ducks

A couple springs ago I had a mallard hen make a nest and lay eggs in some shrubs just in front of my house. They abandoned it at some point but it explained why there was drake strutting around my yard for a few days. I think that was the same spring I watched a few mallard drakes land on my...

    "Wise" rod holders.

I second the Cabelas brand holders. I purchased them about a month ago for $52 for a 4 pack. That includes the mounts. They are made by Scotty and Scotty brand accessories work with. I purchased Scotty brand extenders and they fit perfect. I had the Wise brand before I bought the Cabelas models...

    Hummingbird Helix Questions

As others have mentioned, the Helix 7 (along with the 5) are not iPilot Link compatible. You need networking (ethernet) capability to run the link system and that feature is on the Helix 9 and up units. If you do go with a iPilot Link capable Humminbird unit and want to utilize the follow...

    Deep cycle battery difference?

Each battery is a bank so if you have a 36 volt trolling motors (3 batteries) you would need at least a 3 bank charger. If you also wanted to charge you starting battery you would need a 4 bank charger. Some don't have a charger on the starting battery and rely on their motor to produce enough...
