    marine batteries

I got 5 seasons out of two Walmart Everstart Marine group 27's running my 24 volt Terrova. From I have gathered, thats about average for most marine batteries. They were still working the 6th season but starting to not last as long. Tips to keep them lasting (wet-cell's at least) 1. Don't run...

    HumminBird Help

Are you getting the side imaging unit (899ci HD SI)? If so from what I have read it's worth upgrading to the HD side imaging transducer. Another option would be to look at the new Helix series.

    leader lengths

All the harnesses I tied up last year were around 4 foot long. Most of the waters I fish are generally not clear. I see no point in going much longer because of this. I use florocarbon which sinks so in theory, a longer harness would probably run a little deeper then a shorter one (probably not...

    ND Oahe Contours

I have the LakeMaster Dakotas V2.0 chip in my Humminbird. I just looked and it shows contours starting north of the Hazelton boat access (and of course south). I willing to be that this lake was survey before the flood so it's hard to say how accurate it is anymore. Better then nothing I guess.

    Large flat screen TV advice

I haven't shopped for a TV since my last purchase about 2 years ago. I found Cnet.com to be a good source for reviews. It appears the Vizio brand is rated pretty well for the price. If I was on your budget, I would look at their M series. It appears to be in the middle with the E-series being...

    Gas milage on a 2015~

Actually premium is recommended for the 6.2 motors. They have a slightly higher compression ratio compared the 5.3 (11.5:1 vs 11:1). You might pick up little MPG going to 91 which helps offset the higher cost of premium. I copied this section of my 2014 Sierra manual.

    Gas milage on a 2015~

Nice! My 2014 Sierra 5.3 V8 get's similar results when on interstate trips. My best 25 mile average was 35 MPG. Those were perfect conditions though (55 MPH with a strong tailwind). My tank averages are usually around 19-20 during the summer. Were you running 91 octane?

New Vexilar ( or would you go with something else?)

Currently have a Humminbird ICE-55 but if I was in the market for a new model I think I would go with the Marcum LX-7

    New for GM~

From what I read, a new HD Suburbun will only be offered to fleet/gov't entities. There is a next gen Duramax in the works. I've heard maybe out for the 2017 HD GM trucks.

    Trolling Motor Batteries

Only a few manufactures make lead acid batteries anymore. I've heard most Walmart batteries are made by Johnson Controls which is the same company that makes Interstate batteries (along with many other retails brands). I'm on 5th season with Walmart EverStart deep cycle batteries and I think...
