    Vortex or Leupold

    As is with everything else....does the saying "you get what you pay for" relate?? I am no expert on optics. However I do think some of the lower level leupolds are average. But I have a vx7 and my pal has a vx6. They are both very nice and mine performs very well. They are not cheap however.

    How light is too light for a rifle?

    A lot depends on the round you shoot. A scope will add probably at least a lb of weight so factor that in. Obviously the lighter the gun the more potential for recoil. Depends on how you hunt...do you walk a lot Ie spot and stalk or sit more?

    I know a guy who puts up some sort of ADT sign or something. Some type of deal that says it has a security system or camera or whatever. He doesn't...but puts them out anyway and said it has reduced trespassers a ton.

    Ive had toppers on all my pickups except current one. I miss having one badly. You can throw so much in back and not worry about blowing out or getting stolen. Great for dogs too. The added weight in back actually makes pickup ride tad smoother as well. I'm debating getting another one too...

    Mule vs Whitetail

    Problem around my area is I highly doubt you get "Your" deer. I skin, butcher, bone etc my own animals. But I take the meat to the locker for processing. With the high numbers of deer brought in I highly doubt you get the deer you bring in. Probably all mixed up so I don't bother aging etc...
