    Gift from mother nature

I saw this study. I believe they're actually meal worms. But check out the rate at which they can digest plastic. It's horribly slow. I don't remember the exact figure, but it would take something like 1,000 worms a few days to digest a single one of those Target bags. Or some such thing. Not...

What will you do different this season?

That's a mighty tall order, but you're welcomed to try.

What will you do different this season?

My goal is to actually put a walleye in my livewell this summer. Did not accomplish that in six trips last year.

    Shooting feral cats (legal?)

I suppose with a .17 HMR through his noggin, not very much.

    Shooting feral cats (legal?)

I think there would be a lot less issue with matters such as these (ex. disposing of nuisance critters that might be toeing the line of legality) if people just followed SSS.

    Pike Spearing Questions???

Back in MN, grandpa used to always run a red-and-white decoy alongside a decoy sucker minnow. I know in ND suckers are a no-no, but I wouldn't doubt that a dead smelt threaded on a line and just laying on the bottom wouldn't work great. If you think about how many pike are on forage mode in the...

what do you use for bite indecator on windy days???

Definitely invest in a bait clicker. Okuma makes some pretty decent spinning reel bait clickers that won't break the bank. I have their smallest version on my ice fishing dead stick rod and it's sweet as hell. A size up would make the PERFECT bank fishing setup for the sit and soak method.

Dont buy Lund boats or from Vallely Marine

Honestly, the only boat dealership I trust is Kovash in Moorhead. And even them I have to cock an eyebrow once and awhile. But they're way less shady than most of the other dealers I've been to.

    fish sausage

Instead of sausage, why not an homage to crab cakes? I bet it would taste pretty damn good with pike.

    boat issue! any ideas?

Something freeze in hydraulics over the winter and a line crack/break? Course, if that happened you'd probably be oozing hydraulic fluid somewhere.

    Early Season Boat Concerns

Good call about the bearings. I was going to repack mine last year and got lazy. Made it through a half dozen trips with no worries, but I probably shouldn't put it off any longer. The sucker sat for 10 years and then hit the road, so yeah...it's due. As for the comment about something...

Where do you frosty beverages reside?

All you folks who never set their beer down must not catch very many fish.

Where do you frosty beverages reside?

So what you're saying is I need to get myself a four-inch hole saw and start making cup holders all over my boat, and then fill them with glitter. Sounds risky, but I like it.

Looking for Plano 730 Bait bucket

The Lake Place bait shop in Lake Park always has random stuff. Next time I'm through there I'll take a peak.

Where do you frosty beverages reside?

I'm not sure I catch enough fish to warrant a glittery boat. I think I have to earn that privilege.

DAMNIT! I knew I was forgetting something.

Where do you frosty beverages reside?

Now I know most of you drink so fast you never have time to put your beer down. But there is that chance that you'll have to fight a fish or rebait a hook or detangle a rat's nest from the wife's reel. Hey, it happens. So in those instances, has anyone found a good, quality, non-spilling cup...

Three freaking batteries for one trolling motor? Can you ski behind that sucker at full tilt?

    I am the worm king!!

Ooooh totes! Why didn't I think of that. Same area, but easier to manage. I do have an extra garbage bin, but I don't like the idea of dumping that thing out and scrounging through it every time we need a dozen crawlers.

    I am the worm king!!

Ya know...I never thought about just keeping them in the garage on the concrete. That's not a bad idea at all. There's a corner near the main door that never gets the sun and is a pretty consistent temperature. I think I might try the garbage can idea, but instead use a 5-gallon pale. Fill it...
