    Berry varieties for the garden

Had a cherry tree do that, turns out the scion (fruiting part of the graft) had died and the root stock had died.

    Berry varieties for the garden

Good point raspberry bed wetter! Petras- are they of the same variety? Blueberries set more fruit when planted with 2 cultivars, in fact most will set none to almost none when plantings are the same. Juneberries are probably similar.

    Berry varieties for the garden

Your best bet for blueberries is probably in a box or bed you can fill with topsoil not from around here, needs an acidic soil. I'm guessing there are cultivars that can survive our winters, they grow in Alaska. You want full sun where you plant them. I might try some this year but will need...

    Where to go....

Yep, that is my backup if something pops up keeping me from making a drive. Caught some nice perch 2 years ago but nothing in 3 trips last year. Probably more of an indication of my ice fishing prowress than that of the quality of the lake!

    Where to go....

Have a rare free day to go fishing tomorrow; have not been out since New Years Day. Tobacco Garden has been a dead sea, I don't have a sled or ranger, etc... to move around so would be limited to pickup and walking. Any suggestions? Would like to find some perch but really do not care at this...

    Pig Wings~

Lower part of the femur, just above the hock. On a whole ham, it is the narrow end. If they have those, ask if they have fresh hocks, brine then smoke and then cool and vacum. Use them in green beans or bean soup or greens. Would like to know if anybody makes headcheese or souse in North Dakota.
