    deer rifle results are out

I have a feeling change is coming on this front. There is a presentation floating out there from one of the members of the deer stakeholders group proposing a radical change- https://youtu.be/LWGGzGfqB94 A quick run down of the video proposal (I stole from another site)- Residents can only...

    Navionics and Sakakawea

I can't help you with the Navionics. What I will say is that I was super impressed with the Lakemaster chip up there. I don't know the ins/outs anymore with Lowrance & Lakemaster though. Good luck!

    2018 Oahe Bassmaster

If they can fish Erie and the other great lakes, they can probably handle Oahe. Not saying it won't be a crap show but I think we might be underestimating them a bit.

    2018 Oahe Bassmaster

Caught some pig smallies on Oahe. Only thing that worries me is crowd turnout. They get some big audiences down south. Will be curious to see the weights!

    Need electrical help

It amazes me that such code required items such as GFCI outlets and AFCI breakers can have such a high rate of failure. Heck when the AFCI's first came out 1 of 2 would not work properly. A $6 GFCI is bad enough when an AFCI costs much, much more. I am all for the code and understand the...

    World Record Sniper Shot

The ISIS individual who took that bullet just was at his time. It's like a skunk crossing HWY 31 at about 3am and getting hit by a truck. Darn near meant to be!

    Need Rain!!

Over 2.5" in the last three nights here in far W SD. We needed it but not as bad as further east and north. Gonna be an ugly summer for the crops.

    Need Rain!!

Drier than a popcorn fart here in W SD too. Our place up north got good moisture from the ugly winter but little since. Lawns are going quick to say the least, everyone thought it was fine until this week. The hay crop looks OK for the first cutting but beyond that I doubt there will be much...

    Out of state pros

MT just passed a law requiring purchase of an AIS prevention sticker. $2 for residents, $15 for non residents, and not just boat fisherman. They are using the money to help prevention and inspection efforts. Slowing this down CAN be done, regardless of what those "it's inevitable" folks say...

    Need boat mechanic help

I agree on the cleaning of connections. Also, my 115 Evinrude has a relay setup for the tilt/trim and one of those could have gone bad. There is a plastic box with relays located on the back of the engine block up high that has the relays in it on my engine.

    Jig weight vrs bb weight

If you have feel at 1oz. and 60' good deal. I don't, so I use weight. I have also paid attention to line angle and who catches what in the boat.....and the people in my boat who keep their line at a 45 degree angle do way, way better than those with a lot more line out. But, each person is...

    Cabin/Lodging Around Van Hook??

LOL! To clarify, drinking a beer on the porch of a cabin is preferred to the front steps of the motel! Thanks for the link!

    Cabin/Lodging Around Van Hook??

Heading north in July to pillage your walleyes, plan on staying in the Van Hook area rather than our usual area further east. Can anyone give me a recommendation on a cabin or other reasonable accommodations in the area? Only needs to be able to sleep two, electricity for the boat, and secure...

    Jig weight vrs bb weight

I think it is really situational. While lighter can sometimes be better, say when pitching jigs in shallow, I tend to go heavier more times than not. I can't seem to fish without some sort of feel and if the wind is up or there is current I opt for more weight. I spent a ton of time jigging...

    E1E Anterless Elk

Keep the rifle handy! The most challenging hunt I have done is trying for a cow with a bow. I was always dealing with a big herd and lots of eyes. Hunting bulls was 20x easier LOL! It will be a fun challenge!

    Trail Camera Advice

OK so what are your opinions on flash versus IR for night use? At a lower price point is the flash going to give you better photos at night versus the lower end IR?
