    Clearing Snow from Roof

If the ice dam is close to a hot water spigot, wait for a day above freezing and take the hose to it. The will break from from the gutters and you can throw the chucks out by hand. This is what I do. I also put the heat tape in.

    New Years Snowfall

As I was working yesterday the wife decided to blow some snow. Didn't take an hour for her to call me and tell me, "Some cable broke and it wont go." Here intentions were good and it likely wasn't her fault, but now I get to replace the clutch cable....and as long as I'm in there....the auger...

    Good pair of goggles needed

Most are pretty durable and will fit over glasses so buy a cheap pair of whatever. TIP: Keep a pair in your boat for spring/fall fishing. Makes it a lot easier to see while driving the boat in the cold.

    Need plumber reccomendation

I've used River's Edge and Bauer Plumbing. Both were fine. Mr. Bauer is a good shit. River's Edge did good work but slightly more money.

    Boot help

After 20+ years wearing my Sorel boots, I bought a pair of Baffin Apex based on the opinion of the knuckle heads that hang around this place...haha! They've never done me wrong. They are warm and your feet don't get cold from being on ice all day long in the portable. Like the Captain said...

    Keeping hole open

Drill your hole for fishing, and then drill a second hole that slightly overlaps your first hole. The second hole is only about 3-4" deep, just deep enough to allow the water from your first hole to flood it. You put the coffee can in the 2nd hold and it warms the water at the surface enough to...

    Keeping hole open

    Lamest Walleye Advice Ever

Best advise I every got was fish lakes that have a lot of walleyes in them and fish lakes that are small enough where you can manage your approach and limit the number of locations the fish might be.

    Have you ever?

We were fly fly fishing in MT one time and I was in a similar situation, except when I had my pants around my ankles, the buddies were throwing dirt chunks at me.

    Have you ever?

Driving home from hunting one day with my guts rumb!ing. Thought I could make it home. Get to the garage with massive stomach pain, clinching my ass cbeeks with every thing I had....pushed on the brake to stop and kaboom! Pantalones de mierda! That cost me a pair of jeans. - - - Updated - - -...

    Beaver Bay Access

The access to the east of the bridge on the north side was bad before the storm. You could only drive in to the first picnic site because of the drifts. I'm sure it's a mess. I didn't go over to the boat ramp at all last week.

    Helping the deer herd

The easiest way would be to ask producers to leave some food plots during harvest and then compensate them in some fashion. The other option would be to form a list of producers who would be willing to put out piles of feed during the winter if we have one like we're having now. Working with...

    Back up power

I have a 5000w generator and a 100 foot 10 gauge extension cord (don't ask what it cost). For heat (gas furnace) I shut off the breaker and wire the cord directly into the furnace at the shutoff switch that is near the furnace. Wire it into the switch leg with a couple of wire nuts. We also run...

That's exactly the line/brand I'm looking at. Great information. Thank-you! - - - Updated - - - Actually it's Smoke Hollow that I'm looking at. Is that what you have?

    Propane Smokers

Most have a thermostat on them now but I also use the probe to watch my temps. But yes, you regulate the heat much like you do with a gas grill. It's tough to get a even smoke job sometimes with electric, particularly with wet meat like sausage. I like the propane when you need to dry things...
