    Leaky Propane Tanks

New one for me. Have never had a valve leak on a propane tank nor have I ever had anyone refuse to fill because of an out of date sticker. Have had valves replaced to allow for the new style (new about 15 or more years ago) connectors. Actually prefer the new style as they allow for hand...

    Favorite late season hunting pant

I like jeans if there is no snow on the ground. If snow is on the ground it doesn't matter what I wear as long as it's wool. Quiet and warm, comfortable to walk in, and so loose fitting that I actually feel skinny. At 260+ I've never been classified as skinny.

    Directionally challenged

Well, part of the problem was that last time I was on I-94 it goes East and West, not North and South. Pretty sure I-94 doesn't ever cross into Canada. lol I'm pretty good with directions but have been lost (at least wasn't sure where I was) a couple of times. One resulted in ending up about 5...

    Directionally challenged

Directions and game-bird identification. Me: "What kind of duck is that with the green head?" Wife: "A brown one."

    Gotta love the Irish

May not be politically correct but effective and funny. Now really, how torturous can that be? I'll bet you'd never even have to touch the switch so where is the physical harm?

    feeder parts

You mention oil field tubing and pipe but question it because it gets heavy. It might be heavy pipe but is it going to make that much difference when you're going to also have 350# of corn. Is the pipe weight going to make that much different?

    pike populations...

Caught some pike in lake Irvine this summer when you could still get a boat in there (recommended to take your buddies boat). Most about 25-30 inches and so skinny you could just about get your hand around them. Not much fight in them either.. Walleyes looked better but found no food in any...

    Goose Loads

Quite honestly I've had good success with Federal Black Cloud and I like either BB or BBB's. 3" 12 gauge but also know a guy who has no trouble killing big Canadas with his 20 ga. and about the best you can do with those is 3" 1 shot. Get them in close and you can kill them.

    School me on wood foundations

Built my house in the mid-70's with a wood basement. No problems. Did have the sheetrock off one wall about a year ago to to redo one wall. Wasn't because of a problem, wall was covered with a glued on product and wanted to have a finished drywall look. Removed vapor barrier as well as the...

    Garage Door

Struts are a big benefit when you have a double size door. I would recommend those from the manufacturer of the door. Reason? Different doors may not have the vertical supports in the same placement. With insulated doors you can not always see the vertical supports, kind of like wall studs. If...

    Got swallows ?

Grew up shooting them off the wires in our yard. Never knew how many mosquitos they ate. Now the only time they bother me is when they nest on the house. Instead of trying to knock down the nest and have them rebuild the next day I read where you can crush a pop, or other beverage can, and place...

    Long Term Care coverage

For me, all insurance is a guess. The premiums are based on likely outcomes with a profit for the insurance companies. Those profits are somewhat limited by the State Insurance Commissioners. I buy insurance to protect me from a disastrous outcome. If I'm careful with my vehicles and stay out of...

Question about Oil Injection Problems on outboard

Thank you for the suggestions, especially those of you who thought of a water pump issue. After some of you suggested a possible water issue, I did remember kicking up quite a bit of mud after unloading. You were correct, the issue was water pressure, not oil which is most likely much easier to...

    Honking at audobon?

The horn on my pontoon is so pansy I'm embarrassed to use it. I think I can fart and make more noise. Not bragging, just a fact.

    Flying with frozen meat?

I had frozen fish shipped from Alaska with guaranteed delivery within 24 hours. It was packed in wax boxes with dry ice, no problem. Have heard of others who brought frozen game home and the biggest no-no was moisture on the outside of the box. It was moisture from condensation but it was still...

Question about Oil Injection Problems on outboard

I could live with that except there is a big difference between how the motor runs at low rpm vs higher rpm. Either too hot at low rpm or not enough oil at low rpm i'm thinking.

Question about Oil Injection Problems on outboard

It's certainly worth another look but pretty sure there was a good stream. Thanks. I admit that sometimes my memory isn't what it used to be but I think I remember checking that when I started the motor.

Question about Oil Injection Problems on outboard

I have a Mercury 75hp outboard, about 20 years old. Yesterday the low oil indicator went off while trolling. It was not low on oil but I added some anyway. That did not help. While trolling the motor would at times run very rough and actually sounded like it had no oil mixed. Decided to head to...
