    I use high cty as well,just strip the breast meat,same flavor as you mentioned,but use a smoker,turns out great(honkers) snow goose we grind with pork otherwise its pretty gammie.

    Less chance of a bite off with steel fishin for pike,have yet to see pike as finicky feeders,I even had pike latch onto walleyes hangin on my stringer off the side of my boat.Musky fishin the same,best to use solid steel leaders instead of braided steel.

    Best solution using fluorocarbon ice fishing is to just use it as a dropper line,depending on how long your ice rod is start with 16"'s of fluro attached to your main line.Just a thought,no need to spool your entire reel with fluro.
