Scrap metal/crushing service in S ND or N SD?

Can anyone recommend a scrap metal/crushing service that operates in south central ND or north central SD? We have a place right on the border and are looking to have things cleaned up. Decent bit of scrap iron from the farm days along with various other iron implements. Also have some old...

Too warm to drop a deer.

I've got a huge Igloo cooler that I use regularly on hot years. Throw in three twenty pound bags of ice and go shoot a couple deer. We quarter them out and even two bucks will fit in there. This year looks like it will get used again. It holds 60 snow geese too I've found LOL!

    E-Collar

I have been very happy with the 1900 series of Dogtra collars. Lost one (our fault) and the second one is even better. Would definitely recommend them. No beeper, just a vibrating page. My dad's lab absolutely hates the vibrate, it works better than the shock LOL!

    Migration

This fall feels like the drought falls of the early-mid 2000's. I remember several days in October with record temps and really warm November too. We had some good years on the Missouri River during those times here in SD so I hope something changes. The last few years have been abysmal...

Well this is going to get interesting

I believe it was in a Bismarck Tribune article. Or another local newspaper source. I don't gamble and laugh at those who do so I could care less. But it would seem to me the tribe is hurting itself more than they may think. Maybe it is all my opinion, but once this is over I don't think...

Well this is going to get interesting

No question there is big money behind it. I just think there has to be so much going on behind the scenes. The ND taxpayers should be angry to say the least. Prayers to all the LE, I hope they are safe as they try to quell this crap.

Well this is going to get interesting

Read today that the tribe is spending $60,000 a month on porta potties alone. And, they're losing about 1 million a month in revenue at the Casino. It is certain that there are folks there who want to cause trouble and those who want to protest somewhat peacefully. I just can't understand how...

    Vintage sled heads

I rode old Moto-Skis, early 70's F340's and later model Futura's. They rode like tanks, once I got on a modern sled it was amazing! Finally gave up the sport several years ago. If anyone is looking for old Moto-Skis, send them my way! Have three of them....

    Migration

Guys in the area I frequented in SK are saying things are right on time with past years, even with the snow. That puts big #'s of snows in ND at the beginning of November. And who knows how long they stay. Things just get later and later each year.

    Ice fishing prep

Buy some HDPE strips instead of the factory runners. They slide like crazy and are tougher than nails. I have pulled mine down asphalt for a couple miles (long story) and I can't hardly tell. Lights, I need to find something. Any links? I did strip lights way back when that sucked. Gotta...

    Wood or synthetic stock?

My guns are tools, I take care of them but they get used. I like the looks of wood by cry when it scratches! Synthetic is tough and I don't worry about it getting beat up. I will purchase a new 870 Wingmaster with a nice wood stock. Some nostalgic value to that one, but they sure are nice.

    Tile Showers

I did install tile, showers were not my favorite LOL! Anymore it's the first cut I encourage in a house, that 5-8k just seems better spend elsewhere with the insane costs of building these days! But they do look nice and people are drawn to them, it's expected in a decent home. One thing to...

    lender/insurance question.

The whole system is messed up. Here is my story- Before we met, girlfriend purchased a house. This was right after a hailstorm, owners said all damage was repaired, home inspector said all was good. Fast forward a bit when I'm in the picture and I immediately see hail damage that was not...

    Brew Your Own Beer

I have done a decent bit of it. Costs aren't crazy but enough to make you commit. I would suggest kegging instead of bottling, sanitizing and capping bottles is a total PITA. You can get super into recipes, etc. or just buy the kits. In all honesty, with all the good beer out there anymore...

    Insane Mountain Bike Ride

I love to mountain bike and do it regularly. These guys are still nuts. When you're going fast on loose stuff it is scary as all get out. Big, big balls!

    Granite or Quartz Countertops?

I've done a ton of each and wouldn't even consider granite unless it was really inexpensive and I could get the look I wanted. I feel that quartz is a far superior product. When you get quartz from a company like Cambria the fabrication is flawless. Run of the mill granite guys can do...

    Garden sucess

No problem growing tomatoes this year. Garlic was early and small but good. Onion crop was OK as well, need softer soil! Carrots were good. Peppers were a miserable failure for some reason. Herbs did well, parsley was great this year. Cilantro was good early and late. Basil went nuts as...

    Migration

From my experience up there the last few years there are still a pile of birds north of that snow. Specks included. There are certainly specks that calendar migrate and end up in Texas early but I've seen lots of specks late, late up there. This should trickle a few whites and specks early...
