For you bird guys, What kind of Hawk is this???

Great horned owls generally make a "who-who" sound. You are likely confusing them with the "ho-ho" sound made by the fascinating double-breasted mattress thrasher, they are very active during the night also, and have been known to attack multiple cocks after the sun goes down. :;:smokin

    Cheap graphic design

Look at any of the area colleges that offer graphic design courses. Make a call one of the instructors and have him/her let the students know you are looking to have some freelance work done. The students can use your work as a school project and get credit for it.....you get the work done at...

    2 nights a week, for 4 weeks

Johnr - The next few years will be the best of your life. The "father" time you spend in the field with them over the next 5-10 years is what will make them outdoorsmen and develop them (more than you realize) as outstanding young men and women. Cherish it...before you know it they are off to...

    Some bad ice

Yep, the days are numbered. I think it sucks as I haven't gotten out nearly as much as I would have liked, but I look forward to warmer temps too. Our issues are is we have minimal snow cover, we are in a drought pattern, and as we go into February the suns rays will continue to intensify. If we...

    ND Oahe Contours

Best bet for Oahe is Google Earth...go back and look at old images during the dry years. You won't find a map of the river...You'll need to figure it out each year. I try to use someone else's boat for the first couple outings.

Eyexer you are spot on. There are so many dipshits in this world that have zero common sense, lazy, rude, etc. I think what Snow is feeling is the anger that will start to infest in all of us and eventually provide the drive for us common sense (with a little bit of redneck mixed in) type folks...

    spring adult pheasants

You will succeed.... eventually. However, the survival rates for pen raised birds are horrible. There are several studies out on the web that address it. If it worked well you would see groups like PF would be doing it all over the place. I applaud your persistence though. There is a PF...

    Wild Raspberries?

Lycan I did a bunch of research on growing raspberries last year and planted 36 bushes this past summer in my back yard. I consulted with a lady at NDSU who is a specialist on Raspberries. She recommended brandywine raspberries for their flavor and hardiness. The other thing is they grow like...

Staying in shape for hunting season.

If you're looking for a replacement, we bought a Sole E35 a month ago, off Amazon, after our 5 year old elliptical wore out. You will pay about $400 more for it but it is fitness center quality. It is so smooth and quite you wouldn't believe it and the programs and electronics are great.

Staying in shape for hunting season.

A year ago I made a commitment to stop eating fast food, sweets, pop (diet or otherwise), and milk. I hit the elliptical 3-4 days/week and put in a couple miles. I've dropped 20 lbs and feel much better. Fewer aches and pains, sleep better.... We all like to think we're 10 foot tall and bullet...

This Is What Life in North Dakota Looked Like in 1935

Great pictures! If you guys have not yet had a chance to go to the new Heritage Center in Bismarck, I highly suggest it. It is Smithsonian quality. If you enjoy ND history and geology plan on spending at least 4 hours. I got kicked out at closing time.
