    Evinrude Issues

    When I had 6 gallon tanks the cork gasket around the tank cap deteriorated and the cork plugged the air relief, so the fuel pump couldn't pull as much fuel as was needed at WOT. Cleaned the cork out and replaced the gaskets and no more problem.

    Not my fish but a few years ago I was sitting out on the top of my boathouse at Metigoshe in the evening watching a guy out in front of my neighbors cabin casting. I saw him take a few fish. I hollered "What are you catching?" and he replied that he had caught 3 tagged walleyes in 30 minutes...

    I watch Top Gun every time it is on TV. Have never seen the Jack Reacher/Tom Cruise movie. Cannot believe that Lee Child OK'ed Cruise to play Reacher??? Have read all Lee's books more than once.

    There's no lemons in lemon meringue pie, only lemon juice and lemon zest. The meringue just tops it off.

    Indirect grilling for about an hour turning several times and then the last two turns adding Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce to both sides. Delicious!!! Add some potato salad, corn on the cob and garlic toast with a good chardonnay - cannot go wrong. Plus homemade lemon meringue pie.

    Crazy Rain Yesterday

    Rained at Metigoshe from the time I got up until now - still raining. Checked a few minutes ago ... received 2" so far and still coming down. The Lake was low this spring ... this should help. Should go out and collect 'crawlers, but think I will just go to the bait shop!

    4th of July Salmon

    We mooched for salmon off the coast of northern California (SF, Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz,Monterey) during the late 80's and thru the 90's when there were huge schools of salmon offshore. It would not be uncommon to have 300 - 500 boats on a school of fish that would be several miles across...

    Fished out of Sitka in 2007 and 2008. Went up just after Memorial Day weekend and fished with Frontier Charters. Mostly fished for King salmon, halibut and some rockfish and ling cod. Had good time.
