    New Pheasant Opener Dates

I like it. Having the opener on the 14th is much too late. October is half over. The blame game. Guides Outfitters non-residents. Let's do the math. My neighbor charges $100 dollars per day to hunt. His land is very pheasant friendly. Miles of tree rows and unharvested crops. Deep creeks not...

    Tree planting ?'s

Traxion said, Many Coverlocks programs went in using this method/mindset. It's dam hard to till in between rows without hooking the fabric and ripping it up. That leaves spraying and mowing. Spraying is tough to control drift. Grasses take up a lot of moisture and mowing them isn't the answer...

    Tree planting ?'s

No Bacon, I do not own one but wish I did. Recently purchased a quarter of land without a tree on it but could seriously use shelter belts. My past experiences with tree row weeding contractors is a labor trying to get them when needed. Since weed barrier came along I haven't seen much in...

    Seeding Large Areas of Grass

Chesak Seed House in Bismarck is NOT closing. They had two buildings. The office and then a warehouse one block east with an empty lot. They are building a new facility on that lot so they sold the old office building for a soup kitchen. When DBud said on page one they are closed "for good"...

There may be some white wash in the Dale Sr. death story. Waltrip was in first, Dale jr. was second and Dale Sr. third. (the $64 thousand dollar question) To allow his team mates to get away, was Dale Sr. sandbagging?

    Tree planting ?'s

Planted several miles of trees using a bunch of tillage. Keep the dirt loose. Cultivate before weeds get ahead and suck everything out the soil. Used a weed badger between the trees which worked great because the dirt was loose between rows. Today, most programs won't get involved if you don't...

    Improving the PLOTS program

Former Senator Kent Conrad pushed for that $50 Million Keynesian spender into the 2008 Farm Bill. The US Department of Ag finally got around to the rules on how to dispense the money about 2010. The ND Game and Fish could apply for money from the 2008 Farm Bill to put toward the PLOTS program. I...

What in the dang hell. I did a lot of business with Larry for 30 years. The family sold and I thought the guys who took it over were going to do fine. Their millet alfalfa seed prices and variety were the best.

Well this is going to get interesting

Same thing has happened to me. Focused on the issues and didn't recognize the players in the room. After awhile it becomes obvious it's the same activists over and over. It becomes a problem when everyone in the room is getting paid to be there except other working stiffs like me.
