    Loss of studs like that is rather bizarre. I installed and ran studs on two sleds for ice fishing for >10 years and never lost one. Maybe the studs I installed were better somehow? Studs, scratchers, and carbides on the skis and you're golden for everything but high powder OR slush pockets...

    Yep - pred is not good long term. But every attempt to wean (five or six times) results in a near death crash - so we're in it for the duration at this point.

    Gather some weather data or storm reports to prove that the problems documented by the mechanic were caused by the thunderstorm. This added information may make it easier to get your claim approved.
