    Best gift this year

If you go on a trip like this with fun people and you don't have fun, I would suggest it's your fault. Enjoy.

    Propane Smokers

Can you control the heat on a propane smoker, i had one a few years ago and it was only controlled by turning the knob, not by thermostat. Not the best for controlling heat temp. If they have improved that I would again be interested. Without, i'd go electric.

Pike Ninja's ~ Pike tip up strategy ~

Not exactly how I do it but the end result is pretty much the same. One big exception, I would never suggest you pull a sharp (or even a dull one) knife towards the hand/arm holding the fish. Was waiting for the fish to slip out of her hand to see how deep the cut was going to be. Some day it...

    RIP Winston

I believe that I am a true sportsman. Don't personally know Kurtr or his dog. Yet reading this sad tale brought a little tear to my eye. Sorry for your loss.

    TrueFuel

Thank you. If my math is correct, 4qts/gal X $5/quart = $20.00 per gallon. For the little I use my weed-whip (small yard) and chain saw (trim a few branches each year, no firewood) and went to ION auger. My bill might add up to all of about $10. That's about 2 or 3 beers and for me that hassle...

    TrueFuel

I read about this premixed gas awhile ago but have never seen it for sale. Anyone want to post where they buy it? When I read about it the price/gallon was pretty nigh, Then I started thinking about how much I would use in a weedeater, chain saw, and ice auger. I'm not sure I would use more than...

    Gas prices

It would seem that with a refinery in Mandan that gas in the Bismarck area should be the cheapest. What I don't know and looking for an answer from someone who has the answer. Does the refinery supply directly to the stations in the area or does their supply go into a pipeline and then shipped...

    Snowmobile license

I understand the questions about fairness, however such issues are not limited to snowmobile license fees. I could argue that the area around Bismarck has way more boating access and improved ramps than my area of the state. What really comes to my mind when I hear such complaints is "If I can...

    Our "Real Job"

Prior to retirement I was in the field of education for a time as a teacher and finished as an adminstrator. Now I sometimes help out in a school, emphasis on sometimes. Sometimes do odd jobs for people from working on a farm to minor home repair, not to make a living, just to help them out and...

Kvaloch Parents Suing Coach, School, Insurance

I have no idea how I would deal with the loss of a child. There cannot be a tougher issue to deal with as a parent. That being said, sometimes there is no cause of an accident. Or at least a known cause. Some (most?) are driver error, some are caused by another driver, and some are mechanical...

WTH, another good laugh for the day.

    Christmas Blizzard

I'll apologize right up front. But when you reach my age where such a scenario is no longer possible, that did bring a chuckle. Probably more like an outright laugh and snort. Hope it doesn't happen to you but the visual is funny to me.

    Extreme Cold weather gloves

Obviously haven't tried them all but have never found a glove that kept my hands warm in winter cold weather. Mittens are what I wear with a liner underneath that I can shoot with.

    Bison 6-pack

No they wouldn't. There is not a chance in hell they would be accepted into the Big10 so the schools you named would not be on the schedule. Perhaps one game per year against a Big10 exhale. At the best they would be in a conference such as the MAC or some other small conference which will never...

OK..Chumps..whats your fav soup for cold weather???

Personally I don't consider chili as a soup but do love chili what it's cold outside. For soup my favorite is chicken tortilla, hands down. Lot's of really good soups and do prefer homemade but with all the good soups I still have to stick with tortilla as my favorite.

    Loading "Hotter"

I don't, but the truth is that I don't go out and test when it's this cold either. We do know that changes in temperature, elevation, etc. can affect the performance of bullets. Sometimes it's very little and sometimes not. I also don't use a lot of different kinds of powder so some kinds may be...

Well this is going to get interesting

Perhaps this is a good idea but I thought I heard on the news today that the recent pipeline failure NW of Belfield was a pipe that had been replaced not long ago. Maybe required maintenance instead of total replacement would serve as well. It is also speculated that for some reason the...

I'm afraid that if I had the sound of water running all night I'd be up every hour to take a leak.

    Fish House Hitch Dolly

I have used a borrowed one of these and pulled my 6 1/2 X 17 wheeled house that was also on skis with a borrowed Ranger on tracks. No problem pulling it wherever Wanted to go. Don't know the size of the Ranger since I don't own it but it worked fine. The advantage to the dolly ski I think is...

Anybody see the outcome of the NDSU-SDSU game ?

Should NDSU go FBS, no in my mind. There is more than just the FB coaches salaries going up. Correct that more seating would be required. If NDSU becomes FBS then all salaries go up from the President on down to every instructor. Don't believe that, check what happened when they went from...
