    Pinching barbs on hooks

I know, and I'm not pissed or anything like that, but it did look like a big barb on the picture. I think comparing it to new barbs you can tell that's its actually quite small, and again, it felt fine to the touch. No worries, Sub_Elect.

    Pinching barbs on hooks

I recently posted a picture of my favorite lure for Lake Winnipeg and had a couple comments regarding the appearance of barbs on my hooks. Even if the comment was meant in fun I would like to reiterate that I try and fish by the rules at all times....no matter where I fish. Quite frankly, I...

    Tracks needed for Lake Winnipeg?

Had zero issues with the ice conditions this weekend using a wheeled quad. A little wet if the sun was out and the wind was blowing. It's a lot colder up there in general too, this weekend when it was 65 in Grand Forks is was 45 up there. If the forecast is correct and it cools down later in the...

Anyone using the Lowrance HDS7 Gen 2 Touch?

Be aware that you cannot use the old Lakemaster chips in Gen II Lowrance's. And new Lakemaster chips are for Humminbird only. I run Lake Insight on my touch at the dash and old Lakemaster on my Gen I HDS up front, ethernet together to share waypoints, and I can even send my downscan and...

At least right now, johnr, it sounds like a major cool down for later next week.

Anyone using the Lowrance HDS7 Gen 2 Touch?

At least for the Minnesota lakes I fish Insight Genesis maps are EXACTLY the same as the old Lakemaster chips. I love my Gen II touch, especially with the side and down scan. Widescreen is so much nicer.

I might have to steal one when he isn't looking! Haven't seen them yet, but Tommyboy said your paint detail is awesome.

    "The Flush" late ice technique.

524323921051672 I call B.S. on "the flush". I have found it to be nothing but a big pain in the ass when you have a bunch of water running in the hole!!

    PowerPro Usage

Not anything you need to worry about Tommyboy. Strip 10 feet of line and put on a new fluorocarbon leader and your good for the Big Windy. You should be using Suffix 382 anyway.

    Couple Spinner rig ???

The metal clevis will spin easier. I wouldn't put a slow death hook on a spinner rig, you could end up with a tangled mess under the water. Slow death hook should be on a leader with an optional bead only.

Will you be on hard or soft water this weekend?

Hard water for the next two weeks, Stump this weekend and Winnipeg the following. Then the ice gear is going away and I'm going to start ripping into a kitchen remodel.

Will you be on hard or soft water this weekend?

I choked on my own spit, that is titty sprinkles funny. Tell him one more adjustment for the week and you guys should have all the gas you need.

    Best Anchor for my boat?

Big fan of the Digger. No chain needed, and you can get it out of stuck spots around Devils Lake and Red River trees.

    Chris Rock has race issues....

A few jokes at the intro were fine, and he picked on both sides a little bit in the opening, but going on and on about it through the entire show got very old very fast.

    Venison Ring Sausage

And then you'll cook to temp and re-seal them, or you just cook them individually when you're ready to eat it?

    What a weird spring

Yeah, it's sad that our icehouse is coming off Stump this weekend for the year. What's even worse is like most years we get teased with an early spring, we'll probably get hit with snow and below normal temps in March and April.
