Do I have to do my own internet search? I thought I'd get a link to a YouTube video.....

No more messing with the clock in North Dakota

This is too bad. I clicked on the thread and didn't see that it was old news until about a page in. What a noob move on my part! I thought I remembered it being killed but hey a guy can hope....

I had to giggle at the ad that popped up next to your post. Probably says more about my internet searches than it does about you....

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Digging potatoes is like treasure hunting.....so much fun to see what's there! We have a bumper "hot" pepper crop - scorpion, reaper, 7 pot, ghost, habanero, jalepeno, and cayenne. Kohlrabi did just fine in the shade. Tomatoes are average. Tons of cucumbers! Tomatoes got blossom end rot in...

    This is totally nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm from Casselton and I take exception to this thread :) I saw this work to the advantage of a contestant on "Alone" (survival show). They found a cache of mushrooms a squirrel put in a tree and were able to "cache" in on it. Me - I'd be leary of mildly-identifiable dried mushrooms if trying...

I passed the congrats to Jonah. With a big smile he said "That was one of the coolest experiences of my life!". We are so thankful, your generosity is not taken lightly by our family. You're a part of a "forever" memory for us! Now to get Noah practicing with the bow!

it's burned into my memory bank....however, I bought a leather bound journal to record it all in. Such an epic 4 weeks of prep and hunt!

    Youth Deer Season

I'd argue that those who are ready would be missing out on a piece of growing up. I literally had a conversation about making good decisions with my 11 YO tonight that centered around his choices while deer hunting. It rang true. If they aren't ready don't have them hunt. My humble opinion only.

Well, I'll bring the story full circle tonight. Jonah got his doe like I said....here's our story. Couldn't have asked for a better adventure with my boys. We learned so much - about each other and about deer! My 11 year old and I headed out Friday to hunt the mini cold front that moved...

That's too bad DB....was hoping you'd get one with her. Hope you guys had a good experience regardless! As far as I understand you only get the buck tag at 14 OR 15, not both. But I could be wrong.....

Well, Jonah got his doe! Pics and story to come when I have a free minute. We succeeded in making it it's own epic adventure - for many reasons :) I'd post sooner but I'm busy right now trimming meat and making some fresh venison chili!

    Youth Deer Season

We sat tonight in what turned out to be an absolutely beautiful evening. No deer showed up until last light - one fork buck, not something he could shoot. It was a fantastic evening even without the deer cooperating. Just me and my youngest. With the weather changing and his season nearing...

I couldn't agree more. We are learning about deer, but more importantly we're learning so much about each other! Nature is pretty neat too it turns out :) ....

    Youth Deer Season

Tonight was a learning experience, as every sit has been this year. It was slow for movement - wind not in the most favorable direction, combines taking down beans, and much warmer than Monday's adventure. Saw some does at about 300 yards but on the hoof and too far away. Lots of good though...

Youngest and I are headed out to get him his chance at a memory. He's got a gray doe in mind that he saw the other night but didn't have a shot he was comfortable with. It'll just be him and I tonight - very much looking forward to it! My challenge will be to make it his own memory and...

    Youth Deer Season

Ok guys, here it is... We set out Monday just like we planned to. Perfect day with light rain and 55 degrees to be sitting in a covered elevated blind. We met the landowner at his house and followed him to the area we were going to hunt. Once there we were given instructions on what to...
