    Happy New Year

Don McLean Saw him at the beach/boardwalk in Santa Cruz several years ago. The San Jose Mercury News had an article on him and I brought it with me and gave it to him when we talked to him. Seemed like a real straight shooter.

hey shop guys - what's this called?

Why couldn't you just tack weld a nut to the outside and use that to screw thru to apply the pressure? Steve.

    Sioux hockey starts now!!!

I don't know what Sheels has, but I googled "Dakotah Legacy Collection" and came up with an article in the GF Hearld dated February 13, 2016 that talked about new tee shirts and hats being released at the Ralph to protect the trademark logo. We were back for the UND/UM Duluth series that...

    Crazy question

I used stuff like that for trout on the Flaming Gorge back in the early 70's. It was supposed to imitate a small school of bait fish. Steve.

I don't understand where the new students are getting "Fighting Sioux" sweaters. They haven't been available at the Ralph for a couple of years now. Steve.

    Sioux hockey starts now!!!

My brother is coming over and we are going to watch both games so we can see what the SIOUX will be up against in Saturday night in the FINALS!!! We'll have a few snackies during the first game but not too much to spoil our appetite for dinner during the big game. Dinner will be an old...

    Hydrofoils

Engine performance is not about speed, but about rpm's. If your engine is operating within the top 5 to 10% of its red line rpm, you're propeller is correct. In other words if your red line is 5500 rpm's and you get to 5000 to 5300 rpm's at wot trimmed up to the max, you're propeller is...

    Dumpin the Dip!!

I thought that this thread was going to be about eating some chips/dip while watching the SIOUX whip DU in hockey tomorrow. I guess since I never smoked or chewed, "dip" means something different to me than to a lot of others.

    2016 Lake Sakakawea Land Transfer

After everything that the Obama Administration has done to stop the Keystone Pipeline from being constructed, someone thinks that this land transfer by the Obama Administration is being done to facilitate a pipeline under Lake Sakakawea??? Doesn't pass the smell test IMO! Steve.

    Wind

Some may know this and some may "knot," but here goes nuttin'. Having been boating on the Pacific Ocean for 30 years and having had my own boat for 20 years I have learned a thing or two. A nautical mile "by definition" is 1 minute of latitude. When you are out on the ocean the only way you...

    Preparing catfish??

Whenever we have cooked blackened catfish we ALWAYS use clarified butter. It removes the milk solids from the butter so that the butter doesn't burn at the high heat used in the cooking process. We actually pour the clarified butter into the hot pan and then add the seasoned catfish...

    Header. Will my house collapse?

It's all dependent on the load applied from above and the size and grade of the header. I build homes for 27 years in the San Jose, CA area and here an inspector would require a structural engineer's calculations and signature on the design drawing. The trimmers under the header carry 99% of...

    classics...

We were up on the 108th observation floor of the WTC in 1978. There was nothing on the sidewalks but ANTS! The high speed elevator that took you up from the ground floor was so fast (probably less than a minute) that you had to swallow continuously the whole way up to equalize your ears. Steve.

    Drones

Duh. I stand by my quoted post. It said that "a drone was hovering over his property with a shotgun". He should have written that the guy used his shotgun to shoot down the drone that was hovering over his property. The sentence was poorly written. There are SO many instances of this pi$$...

Damn straights he had a right "destroying a drone which was hovering over his property with a shotgun." Anything hovering over me with a shotgun wouldn't last long!!! Steve.
