    losing a best friend...

It is tough; just tell the kids the truth and tell them it is ok to be sad and it gets better over time. It is, for sure, the worst part of being a responsible owner. Don't wait too long on a puppy!

    Deep Fryer Oil Disposal

I pour some on my charcoal chimmney, would be a good fire starter on kindling, pourded on campfire, poured some down the drain with a Dawn chaser, a la Johnr and have send it back to dump. It will last longer if you can filter it. Someone once told me to fry a couple taters, sliced up to...

    Got Goose? What to do...

It all looks good! What is the sodium content of your mixes? I find much of the commercial stuff is too salty for my tastes and so I picked up some instacure #1 and just made my own stuff to suit my tastes.

    What's in your garden?

That was all I planted. Kellogg's breakfast, mortgage lifter, brandywine, boxcar willie, and on and on. Usually had 60-80 tomato plants each year. Had an Amish family that baked bread for our shop and that toasted, mayo and salt and fresh ground pepper would be breakfast, dinner and supper...

Deep Fried or Pan fry Walleye........

What Guy said is how a guy could fry up some good fish. I like to grill walleye every now and again. For a special occasion; lay a square of foil and place a fillet on it. Top with some crab meat, diced red, yellow, orange bell pepper, chives, add a second fillet and top with more chives...

    Best rib recipe

A buddy and I went to Louisiana to duck hunt with a vendor rep back in 2000. He had some pig traps and gave us a young one, halved lengthwise. We took it back and I kept it in my freezer until New Years Day 2001. It had been through 2 freezer unplugs by my father in law and one power outage...

    smoking

Keep in mind you do need much smoke to impart the flavor.... And like Woodpecker said, let it mellow. I don't let it go much past 30 minutes on smoker.

    Raise maggots!!!

Interesting read; I have an incredibly patient wife but maggot farming might be on the fringe of acceptable behavior. On the other hand; hanging a few carcasses seething with fly larvae around your dock or favorite spot would go along ways towards keeping the pressure down.

    Ouch!(earmuffs kids-language)

Seems to me the fish knew it had him by the short hairs. The only quote missing from that video would be "here, hold my beer".

Getting hosed on Optical warranty repair

Ouch that is a chunk o change. I usually have decent luck with refurbished items; I can see getting fired up when something you expect to be new and under warranty not be.

    Ouch!(earmuffs kids-language)

Ughhh reeling against the drag drives me nuts, ha ha. I can usually adjust my drag when fighting a fish, prefer that to back reeling.
