    As far as I know, DUI checkpoints have been ruled acceptable due to public safety. I don't believe game checkpoints cross that threshold. I won't be writing my legislator anytime soon on the matter but I'm not completely comfortable on the idea.

    I've canned fish, just never any mammal or fowl. But now that you got me thinking about it, the idea intrigues me. Pheasant hunting is my least favorite hunt though so I don't shoot a lot of them. Will probably bag another 6 next weekend though when the father in law is in town.

    Haven't been able to eat deer ribs for many years after that tallow incident. Maybe next year I will try the pressure cooker if they are that good....or I still have a archery tag. Maybe I'll shoot a nice fat doe over Christmas.

    The libertarian in me really dislikes the idea but cripes are they effective. Overall, I think that most laws are generally respected, traffic, etc. But there is just something about game and fish laws that turn so many people into scoundrels.
