    Lake Havasu Fishing?

He no longer has a login for Nodak, at least...I don't think he does.

    Lake Havasu Fishing?

Yeah, BobKat is down there absolutely slaying some nice sized striped bass. He has been for several weeks now. I don't know of any guides (only been there a couple times myself), but there are fishing piers and quite a bit of shore access off the island near London Bridge.

New Land Bills: SB 2036, 2037 and 2038

It is in response to some dumbass who built a house RIGHT NEXT TO the Hazelton boat ramp south of Bismarck. He even tried to get the ramp closed in between certain hours. The guy who runs the airboat is a bowfisherman chasing carp up in the shallows.

    New cranking battery

Personally, I am not sure there is such a thing as a bad brand of batteries nowadays. I used to think so, so I would spend big bucks getting Interstate, or whatever other battery had really good ratings. Then I found out I had something like 14 frigging batteries between all of my "stuff". So...

    Sak Salmon

I have seen several salmon caught on spoons in early Sept by people casting in the Lake Sakakawea St Park bay, and over in Gov't bay to the east. I think the number of people who truly have salmon figured out in ND can be counted on my phalanges.

    Garage Attic Access

If you don't really want to use the attic as storage, you could take that piece of sheetrock down that serves as the hatch cover, reinforce it with plywood on the topside, add a layer of polystyrene insulation, and install hinges along with a latch to keep it closed. I did this at my last place...

    Audubon

I don't know about any sinking, but the wind created a bunch of carnage on fish houses over the past couple days. Tipped over houses etc.

Eagle Claw inline reels. Product REVIEW

Reels that don't meet the minimum of expectations are the devil's product. Hope you get it figured out.

    Nickel cases?

I have reloaded several hundred nickel plated cases in 7 mm Rem Mag and 25-06. No issues with flaking of the nickel, and I probably got a solid 3 reloads out of the cases on average before the necks started to crack. Which is maybe a single reload or so less than I see out of the solid brass...

    Lake george kidder county

One thing is for sure, with it being that salty, acquiring a few leeches while swimming shouldn't happen. I fricking hate those things.

Use of Sucker Minnows in ND

I really miss being able to fish Sakakawea with suckers. They were awesome, and readily available in our stock dam.

    Odd weather

I fail to see what is odd about ND weather going from one extreme to another, that's just how we roll.

Bill being introduced to allow Pink

If your buddy is wearing camo orange and there's not enough for you to pick him out (EASILY!) as he's walking a draw out in the Badlands at 800 yds, then he just isn't visible enough. I mean, I get it...there's hi-vis orange one can pick out with just a hat on their head, but I've also seen...

    Audubon

sierra1995, That's a good point. In general, I like to park over deep water and drill my way up onto the top of a hump (or as we often incorrectly refer to them, sunken islands). The safest ice "should" be over the deeper water. A mapping unit with depth contours is a very valuable tool in...

    Lake george kidder county

I am not at all familiar with Lake George's specific construction. That article said it was from "thrusting of ice" during the last glaciation, which suggests it is essentially a divot on the Earth's surface. Oddly enough, if I remember correctly, that's how Devils Lake was formed. Sully's...

    Audubon

Guy has already noted some of it. In general, there is groundwater flow into the area around the pumping plant. Probably more important on the Sakakawea side. Anyway, like Guy mentioned, slight changes in water temps keeps the water moving, even if it's not that perceptible to the fisherman...

    Audubon

As a general rule, Audubon has some of the scariest ice in the state even during the coldest of winters. Mostly due to convective currents under the ice. I'd be leary of taking my 1500 lb SxS out on Audubon to explore where others haven't already been. However, I haven't been up there this...

Ice Fishing MYTHS that never die.

ORCUS DEMENS, Now there is a great example of where reservoirs get lowered a bunch in the winter time. Small to mediums sized reservoirs primarily built for water supply are often lowered by 20 ft, or more during the course of the year and much of that can occur in the winter.

Ice Fishing MYTHS that never die.

Wait, what six speed tranny? My 2014 Pioneer 700 is only 3. It'd be awesome to have a few more gears to go through. Damnit... Oh yeah, and I don't have Guy's coinage, so mine is pretty much stock.

Ice Fishing MYTHS that never die.

It's tough to imagine any ND river freezing in 5+ ft above it's mid-winter flow levels, maybe the James did last year. So I would hazard a guess that was a pool on some stream in a faraway locale. It would certainly be a scary deal though.
