    Missouri River rise

You can go to weather.gov/billings and navigate your way to the AHPS page, from there you can click on the precipitation mapping tab and plot it in a number of different ways. You posted snotel's estimate for how much water in the snowpack was left as a percent of normal for that day in...

    Reef Runners?

They are even more sensitive to running straight if using a snap swivel than a Rapala. I suggest tying directly to them.

    Air rifles

Yes, and the quality is not what you remember. I shoot a Gamo nowadays. Not a real fan of the one-pump, one-shot variety. It's accurate as hell and at 1200 fps it will put a hole clean through every bunny I've shot. But that single shot thingy is not as fun when shooting gophers. - - -...

Looking for idea for day trip

Drove by Van Hook today on my way home from working cattle. There must have been 75 boats in the north part of the arm visible from highway 23. I really regretted taking the 4 wheeler instead of the boat.

    Snakebite vaccine for dogs

The local NAVHDA club in Bismarck imported a fella from MT a few years ago to do a snake avoidance clinic. It was pretty damn popular, with everyone but the dogs. I'd do it again if anyone can tell me when and where it's being held.

    Missouri River rise

That is a legit question. The thing you have to understand with that question though is how much evidence do you need before you start calling for 300, 400, 600 percent of normal over a given time period? It takes quite the set of cajones to walk out on that branch. The bottom line is that...

    Missouri River rise

I would have to think that 1853.5 is still too high of a guess. It would take another couple weeks of heavy rain in MT to do anything like that. http://www.nwd-mr.usace.army.mil/rcc/reports/pdfs/weeklyupdate.pdf

That's on the Missouri, the problem for Williston and Sakakawea is/has/will be the Yellowstone.

    Missouri River rise

Obi, you make it sound like the Corps is also responsible for the weather. Dude, are you sure you're cutout for living next to water? If there was anything in my life that created nearly as much angst as what this does to your online persona, I'd be making some damn changes. Maybe...

    Missouri River rise

Err, what misery? The river is expected to top out at around 13 ft, which is 1.5 ft below flood stage. How can you possibly be so worked up about the Corps operating the dam as designed and without exceeding the river stage that the state and locals have set as the "flood" stage?

    Talapia~

MSA, Where have you ever run across smelt for human consumption at a market? All those bags of smelt they often sell/sold at grocery stores were all labled "not for human consumption". Messing with you, aside. Fresh smelt out of Sakakawea are quite edible. I found I didn't like them much...

    Left Lane = PASSING LANE!

I think the bottom line here is we all advocate drivers being aware of their surroundings and courteous to other motorists. Calling the left lane of the interstate, interstate, or highway 83 a "passing lane" and insisting it is used only for such is a blatant disregard for the reason there are 4...

    Left Lane = PASSING LANE!

Not exactly true. You can be ticketed in ND for "hindering" traffic, or something like that. At least that's a conversation I had with an LEO acquaintance who claimed he could write a ticket for this. However, that leaves hindering or obstructing traffic open to legal interpretation and you...

    Fifth Wheel Friendly

I've had airbags in a pickup when it was used for a pop-up camper. The sway of that 1/2 ton was just too much without the airbags. I run a 2009 F250 now with a 34 ft camper at ~8,000 lbs, and a 17.5 ft Lund behind that. Overall length is 73 ft if I remember correctly, so that's not an issue...

    Long Term Care coverage

My personal take on this: 1. If you are in your 40s, you are too late to by buying this insurance as the cost of insurance will kill you, and then you wouldn't need it anyway. 2. People talk about "protecting assets" from being used to pay for their care. Umm, #2 is exactly what should be...
