    I think they help....or maybe I'm hoping they help as I post some of these reports, but I've had several discussions over the years about the benefits of posting a fishing report. Some say people just read them, but figure they are not as truthful as they should be. Others like to read them...

    DIY Splash Guards (wave wackers)

    Depending on how cheap you want to go, I saw a guy cut Semi truck tires and mounted them on the transom. He then bolted cutting board type material to the tires. The waves would make the tires flex, but they kept most of the water out. Looked like hell, but it worked. Good Luck!!!

    It's a revenue generation method. The longer they keep your license fees making interest, the better it is for them. If they run the lottery, they have to pay back the fee to all those who got turned down. That's the only reason I can come up with that makes any sense.
