Just finished a 17 hour drive to get home from a mission a couple hours ago. I can't make the event, but I'll be there in Spirit guys. Toast all us non-attendees at least once will ya??
As with ANY new body of water I fish, I start out with the idea that walleyes prefer windy points regardless of the sky conditions. I would troll (which is NOT my prefered technique) spinners or lindy rigs along the shoreline points, checking both shallow and deep, and all around the islands...
In high wind or big waves I will use my kicker to backtroll as the transom responds very slowly to wind and waves. Unlike the bow that can get thrown rapidly from one side to the other forcing me to be "johnny on the spot" with the trolling motor. I will also backtroll when I have 3 or more...
If you want to tangle with smallies on a fly rod, I can probably put you on a spot or two. Assuming you can cast with minimal back cast clearance and don't mind a little mud. ;)
Did the pumpkin thing, but unless I smashed them open, they just laid there until spring and rotted. I suppose I could plant them and do the pumpkin smash dance with the truck. (Grin) Hell, I might just grind up the ground and plant whatever I can get my hands on. T'would be one hell of a...
I need to smack myself in the noggin tonight. I'm on mission, had a few beverages, fell off the wagon, and got sucked back onto that "Other Site". I haven't been over there for weeks, but I clicked on it to see what was posted on the Channel A deal and against my better judgement, I opened a...
I can do just about anything I want. You guys are giving me too many options. Never thought of canola. Might be a good deal as nobody plants that in my area and it might totally crap out with the soil types I have. With the standard crops of corn, soybeans, and small grains being planted...
I find it very interesting that people THINK they have the right to tell others when they can and can not defend themselves and which method of self defense is acceptable. Phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!!
I can give sugarbeets a shot as well, but seed is pretty expensive. We'll have to see what I can find. Maybe I'll just plant some soybeans late so they stay green during the fall. IDK, I'll keep watching this thread and pick up any ideas or thoughts as it goes along.
This is not in any way a "Mob Mentality". I actually went back to that "Other site" (I can't believe I actually admitted that) and read the several threads you started on this issue. There were numerous insights, suggestions, and opportunities provided to you in an effort to resolve this...
DM, what is taproot planting? I am unfamiliar with that term.
Buck, I'm thinking of planting a blob of turnips on the place, just to see what happens. Good idea or Bad??
Thanks Guys!!
That's what we are trying to do. Change the channel. However, it seems that our message is not being received. We are friendly, but when a person comes on here and refuses to acknowledge the assistance he has received and ignores the information and suggestions provided, it tends to ruffle...
