Lake Tschida camping spot to close

The Bureau of Reclamation's biggest error at Tschida was allowing those mobile homes down in the flood pool in the first place. I don't think the downstream residents (to include Mandanites) were very excited about a 500 gallon propane tank trying to go down Heart Butte Dam's glory hole in...

    Getting the "SNIP"

;:;popcorn I had it done some 8+ years ago. And my #$%^&> still works just fine. It is indeed an unpleasant experience, but then again...so would having a full-time newborn around at this point in life.

New state record paddle fish? It looks like one!

Oh hell no! Get a good clean piece of the white meat off of a paddlefish filet, let's say 4x4 inches and an inch thick. Place on a broiler sheet with a tab of butter on top and a generous dose of lemon pepper. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes, then turn on the broiler to sear the top. Mmmm...

    Starting Battery

I'm up to 15 total 12V batteries for vehicles, UTV, tractors, etc, etc. Seems like I replace about 3 a year, latest was my boat's starting battery which I replaced with an Interstate marine starting battery (t'was what was already in there but I got 5 or 6 yrs out of it). Only thing I am...

    Vets

USMC, 1988-1992. Yep, plenty of fun stories. None of which get aired in such a public forum. Put a couple beers in me though and I just never know what shakes out of the rafters.

    jury duty

I've lived in Burleigh now for 13 years, I suppose I've received 7 or 8 summons and ended up serving as a juror twice. I have no issue with serving on a jury. As someone else put it, it's the price we pay to live in a society not run by bureaucrats who get to decided your fate. I did get...

    High Beams (AGAIN)

Ahh, I have no issue with intelligent discourse. None whatsoever. I believe the point of it not being illegal to run high beams down the interstate and other 4 lane highways is that the State has engineered into their roadway what they think is an acceptable distance between two approaching...

    High Beams (AGAIN)

It ain't a titty sprinkling "passing lane"! By ND law, 4 lane highways are exactly that, 4 lanes for the purpose of driving. It always cracks me up when I hear about a "passing lane". I also hear from people who complain that someone in the non-passing lane doesn't pull over into the...

    Fishing Alone?

This. A good friend constantly whines about me giving him 2 - 12 hours of notice. I guess I can almost sympathize, divorce is quite spendy.

    Work sharp sharpener

Me too, I'd be there a month of Sundays sharpening my mower blades if I tried to use a belt sharpener! Then again, I only mow about 3 times a year. You can get away with that if the dirt is flying when you do mow.

My ex wanted to do that with the cremated remains of her dog. Only problem is I don't reload shotshells.

    Ditch Ducks

I have woodies, hooded mergansers, Canada geese, mallards, and a teal or two hanging around my pond. Fun to watch! Also have the neighbor's tame titty sprinkling ducks and geese that come over every now and then to visit. Them I might shoot if they keep harassing the native ducks.
