New ice gear for the 2021-22 season

I bought the Marcum M5 last year and really like it. I don't use most of the options like zoom and such so I could've probably gone with the 3 or even 1. Does anyone use the sonar on their boats for ice fishing as well? I have the Lowrance Hook2 5 on my boat and it has an ice fishing sonar built...

New ice gear for the 2021-22 season

I would like to get a wheelhouse one of these days, but I don't think this year is the year. We really enjoyed the 650XD we bought last year and I've also been eyeing the new 850XD. I also have to get the wife her own flasher so she will stop stealing mine.

    North and South Dakota

I love it right here in ND. If I were to move anywhere it would probably be MT. I love the mountains and it would be great to elk hunt every year.

    Ready for winter

I was just going through the ice fishing stuff and fired the auger up. I told the wife we need the new 850XD and I got the eye roll. She bought the 650XD last year. Even though we are enjoying the new boat, I am tired of being hot and miserable on the water and all the dang bugs lately are...

    Plans for this weekend?

This might be our last weekend on Oahe since they're going to start reducing flow to the Missouri. There won't be any point in finishing the last couple weeks of camping if we can't get the boat in the water.

    Sak seasonal campground

I did see those. They were a little too far for the wife.

    Surcharge on unvaccinated

Just another strongarm tactic. I've also heard companies are having the unvaccinated take a rapid test before they can work and then charging said people for each test. It won't be long and someone is going to snap.

    Sak seasonal campground

I wish it wasn't such a far drive from Bismarck. I was up there for a few days last week and the fishing was great. I have relatives up there that have a lot with a park model. I wish there were places on Oahe or Sakakawea where a guy could have those things set up.

    Sak seasonal campground

Yep, no thank you. We paid $1,700 for the year on Oahe and we have a double wide spot with enough room for the camper, boat, waverunner, two vehicles, and a good amount of grass that the owners mow. I think it's going to be a looooong wait to get up to the big lake, but oh well. At least we...

    Kudos to Bismarck Sheels

I have given them a lot of business. However, I have been giving Dakota Tackle a lot of business lately. I figured I would support local for a while.

    Sak seasonal campground

We will hopefully be doing the same thing in the future. We have really been liking the shop/house idea so we can store all the toys as well.

    Sak seasonal campground

We were travelers for a long time and enjoyed it. However, we jumped at the opportunity to become seasonal campers last year and we quickly fell in love with it. It is great to show up with bag of clothes, turn the AC on, grab the chairs, crack a beer, and start relaxing. We get a long with...

    Sak seasonal campground

Does anyone have info on this campground? It’s just north of Ft. Stevenson. My wife drove by it today and said we need to look into it. I told her it’s probably like every other campground up there and it will have a mile long wait list. I guess if we want to be up there, we better put our name...

    Lake Oahe Beaver Bay

I haven’t been having much luck lately. However, I haven’t fished that actual area in a while. We have been putting in at Langeliers Bay and fishing around there. It’s been slow, but we have found a few.

    Fishing over state lines

So what I'm getting is this. If I am trolling back and forth over the state line I should make sure I only have a limit of 4 per person. Once I have that limit and I want to get each person one more, I need to stay in ND. Now that I am thinking about it, it's probably not even worth it. It was...

    Fishing over state lines

I fished around the state line on Oahe yesterday and now I've been toying around with the idea of buying a one day SD fishing lines and fishing both sides. I have been trying to find any rules/regulations on crossing over in a boat, as well as transporting fish in the livewell. I was wondering...

    retail ammo supply~

Finally found some 243 shells on Midway USA's website. $40 for the box + $13 shipping= OUCH!! They're the Hornaday American Whitetail that normally cost $22 a box. I was not pleased to pay that much for one box of shells but the wife and kids shoot 243.

    ML tag

I did the same thing. I bought a muzzleloader and starting putting in for a tag. After 9 years I gave up and now I have a muzzleloader I will never use. Maybe I'll use it during rifle season one of these years.

    Camping with Dogs

They are not siblings. They're about 4 years apart. One came from a kennel club in SD and the other I got here in ND. I understand that it is in there genetics to bark and since they're both males they are marking their territory. It just gets frustrating having to deal with it all. Other than...

    Camping with Dogs

I have two Beagles and they bark. They also destroyed my last house by pissing on everything every chance they got. No matter how many times I have addressed both issues, they continue the behavior. When we bought our new house I made a kennel in the garage that leads to a kennel outside. They...
