    That was the consensus at my office -- they all have shut them off in the past. If you have a hard line you get a call - if you don't and great majority do not you get the alert. Why not alert as a normal text - show the pictures as they have on the news and the story.

    I think if you did studies on it - especially in a large city -- one would find out that the fatigue from blowing an alarm in the middle of the night - would contribute to vehicle accidents, heart attacks and more. Most likely greater than the advantage of the alarm. Its another knee jerk...
