    Basics for Trolling Speeds

think of it like a weight on an end of a rope while spinning around. the faster you swing it the more it raises up. the slower you swing it the closer to the ground it runs. If you want to slow troll cranks at various depths in shallow water it works very well. I can place cranks at any...

    Basics for Trolling Speeds

what I don't like about lead core is it is speed dependent. you can achieve the same thing using snap weights if one doesn't want to invest in lead core equipment. I spooled a couple rods up with lead core and have never used them.

    Basics for Trolling Speeds

when pulling bouncers I don't give a darn what the speed is. I pull by feel and speed up and slow down until I find what the fish are wanting. That changes throughout the day sometimes. I can tell by feel or watching my rod what my speed is. With cranks I generally run 1.8-2.4 mph. 90% of...

    Spinners

generally only buy hammered ones. sometimes I paint just the outside and leave the shiny metal on the inside. I made a fluid bed and am going to powder coat a bunch many different ways. I bought 750 blades off ebay this winter for .04 cents a piece. Beads and hooks galore too. I'm going to...

    Warriors on the Water

100% agree. Best time I've ever had. Only thing that pisses me off is you had a pontoon and could take multiple guys lol. But then I don't know if I could handle all the additional enjoyment.

Internal GPS in a tiller boat

before you plunge for a bird or lowrance look seriously at the new Garmins. I bought a new echo70DV last fall and I'll never own another bird or lowrance. As far as signal inside that panel it would be determined by a few things. how angled back the top is meaning how much exposure into it...

    Guiding? Profitable?

it's so seasonal. and you are out in crappy weather a lot. I think it could pretty much ruin a good hobby/leisure activity.

What do you think about expensive reels?

I think $100 would get you a real you'd be more than happy with. anything over that is simply luxury.

    Fishing Pontoon

I'm thinking about finding a set of floats and a deck or a pontoon that is bad up top. Then tearing it all off and building it how I want it.

What do you think about expensive reels?

honestly the more you spend the better they are. I like the pfluegers but they don't have flippin switches on their bait casters so won't buy any more than the one I have.

    My DIY tackle projects

they're awesome. I spent the winter scouring ebay buying all the spinner blades I could for 4-6 cents a piece. bought one 500 pack for 4 cents a piece lol. I'm set forever. Also scored a pile of sweet octopus hooks and beads and such. Then I put together a fluid bed and bought a bunch of...
