    I put 2 hours of smoke on a 13lb brisket, and right now mrs johnr has it in a roaster with some secret blend marinade to cook for 6 hours. Then the usual other goodies. We also have a ham incase anyone is not a fan of the brisket.

    Using leaders for cranks?

    I don't crank much but have used leaders 50% of the time, caught just as many either way. With a 20lb powerpro line on my cranking rods, I feel confident without leaders too. - - - Updated - - - It's the state fish, might be part of the reasons, or the hardiness of the breed.

    New hunter in the family

    My boy was able to get 4 pheasants this season on his 3 trips out, he passed his hunters safety a couple months back. He seems to be so much calmer and laid back then I remembered being. Congrats to the future hunter, you will find its way more fun watching /helping them then actually hunting...
