    Question for the biologists...

Breast em all. I don't gut my fish either, just fillet em. I did once eat cow liver that mrs johnr prepared, it was rather a turn off, and now refrain from eating the guts like them Montanans seem to enjoy. When I was an eastern loser, and only pheasant hunted a couple times a season I would...

    New Fishing Regs. Proposal

2 summers ago the fishing was fantastic, we caught limits of 16-20 inch walleyes in about an hour on every outing. I had fish coming out my ass. Still had some in the freezer just a few weeks ago from that summer. I thawed out my filletsickle and pan fried 6 fish worth, it was awesome, tasted as...

ATV Snow Plows vs. Snow Blower

A heated driveway and sidewalk would of course be the best option. I know there was a house in Briarwood that had that back when I was a high school kid. Sometimes wealth does buy happiness, and a snow free driveway.

AKC labs pups due to arrive 12-19-15

I had a buddy pick up a nice looking Golden, the first time that dog heard a loud gun shot, it was gun shy and never hunted for him ever. Not sure you can test for that, but I would be more upset about a gun shy dog, than if I bought a $1,500 shot gun that jammed every other round.

Proposal to Remove Plugs From Boats

I never leave the plug in the boat. It doesn't leak, never leave it untarped, or spill in it much, but a buddy told me to pull the plug always to let air in and out of the underneath, or you will experience floor rot. I am not one to redo a floor in a boat, nor to spend the money having it done...

    Pheasants in cold/snow

yup me too, and its not a fear of bs'n with someone, as I do that all day for a living essentially, its the fact that I just want to be left alone. It is my time, I don't want any small talk or worse is when they give me advise on what I should be doing different. I once told a guy I cant...

AKC labs pups due to arrive 12-19-15

it was in agreement of your entire post, as I liked your advice. Not all dogs hunt, some are for looks, and some just pee and yap. The purpose of which is not known by me. I use my dogs as a companion in the field, to help hunt, and to provide a better experience. I would not have a dog that...

    Bernie the Owl

I once caught a nice pike out of skunk bay and the tribal game and fish was making his rounds, come over, saw the big pike sitting on the ice and asked me if it was a Northern or exactly what kind of fish I had...hahaha. Sometimes a badge and title don't mean you really know what you are doing.

    whole house humidifiers

Was this in Western ND, and who did you have do it? I ran my shower last night for about a half hour on the hottest it would go to add a bit of moisture to the air. Place is like a damn popcorn fart.

    Smoking in the garden shed.

Well I smoked some under whelming bacon this last Saturday to try to bring it to an acceptable flavor. I preheated the smoker in my garage, and then wheeled it into the driveway when I put the smoke puck on the heating element. We where about 30* and it kept heat and did a nice job. However we...
