    Boat Ramp Etiquette

I believe there would be far more consideration and politeness with numerous coach guns and rock salt at the boat ramp. I'm thinking some sort of odor device for the left lane riding. side view mirror blinding tools who won't maintain a steady speed. I haven't thought out the solution for the...

Watch those damn things. They seem to work harden after a while and will snap in mid-cast. It's happened to me enough to make me change them out every outing. I not shi'ite you. Usually snip the hardware and recycle to new wire. Luckily never lost a bait. It's always landed somewhere on...

Not a damn thing wrong with reversing it but I don't believe it's necessary. If this provides more confidence in your tackle then it's a good thing. It's some sort of mystical deal but it's real: More confidence/more fish.

Maybe I'm some sort of amazing jackass. I just snip off the old knot at the start of the year and randomly when I think the snap or wire leader is "done". You can keep your spools full for years. Dadgum I love this stuff!

    Carp Fishin

I've never worried much about the hook point as they feed on crayfish. IMHE, the key is making sure they feel no resistance on the pick-up. In the tailrace, I've found it's a different story; they don't care. Bank fishing with a no-roll sinker-to swivel-to air injected crawler; produced just...

I'm running 10 year old PP (6/20). No issues. The little hairs sticking off it as it ages does nothing derogatory to strength. I also respectfully disagree with sunlight being detrimental. Still amazed how a pike can sever it like tissue paper; this defies logic to my feeble mind.

If your spool depth is good, leave it alone. Treat it like fly line. Use a Sharpie if it turns white and you're concerned. This shi'ite is near indestructible. A swivel is your friend.
