No paddle fish season, & tournaments canceled April & May

Only potential would be saving big fish...doubt too many tourney guys are gonna keep 5+ pounders if they're fishing for fun. But nonetheless I'm of the camp that it's a drop in the bucket.

Is now the time to stock up on ammo?

Yep, I always have that in my mind too. I can see trying to get some if you are in danger of not having enough for the fall hunting seasons but what exact survival advantage will it be having 10000 rounds of .22 or .223 or any caliber for that matter? If things get that bad I don't think any...

    Minnows

Can't imagine you would ever get dinged for it unless you are trying to sell them. I don't see an issue with it, especially in these days of ANS; don't really want just anybody trapping thousands of minnows and then distributing them all over a region.

    Spring snows

What he said :) I wouldn't doubt there have actually been more people hunting them this year in the Dakotas with all of the college kids out of school, etc.

    Bow mount GPS/Depthfinder

I should add that I'll probably be selling one of these in a couple weeks; works perfectly and I would be open to selling without the transducer if you are looking to use in a bow setup where you hook it up to a Minnkota. Upgraded to a networkable model. PM if interested.

    Bow mount GPS/Depthfinder

Tough question to answer since everyone's fishing style is a little different. I use humminbird so I'm probably not much help and I'm a tiller guy and I rarely fish at the bow (put my buddies up there to pull the Terrova up and down ) so I just put a helix 5 up there that pretty much just...

    Minnows

You can keep a scoop of minnows alive a long time (at least 3-4 weeks) just in a gallon or two bucket if you keep them cool, no aerator needed. Change the water maybe once a week. I do it all the time, either keep them in the garage if it's not too cold to freeze them or in a fridge if it's...

Non Resident license reduction time for fishing? hunting?

Read on another site (in-depth outdoors) that ND has suspended the sale of NR fishing licenses. Not seeing it announced anywhere so assuming it's a rumor at this time?

    Spring Canada goose season

I think the argument could easily be made to hunt them in the spring; just wrap it up by early April (we do hunt Turkeys during breeding season FWIW). Problem would be that many of the geese you'd be targeting would be geese that weren't going to stay here anyways and thus aren't the crop...

    Spring Canada goose season

Big sticking point would also be that some of the migrating populations going to Canada are not doing as well so they wouldn't want harvest of those. I'd be in favor of a once-in-a-lifetime spring duck tag though. You get to shoot one duck of your choice in the spring once in your life...

    Guiding Question??

I'd assume AR-15 meant during this time, no NR. I guess it seems common sense to not travel out of state 'for fun' right now but that's just me.

    Ndtrax

I do find it odd that my 7 year old TRAX chip usually shows phone numbers for land owners (in the counties that were available at that time) but OnX does not. Or do I need to adjust a setting with OnX?

    Ndtrax

I am no expert with OnX, but when I open it I don't see an option for lake contours. I believe there are several options though. One to check out would be the G&F website; I believe you can download lake maps amongst other things to load onto a Garmin (never done it myself though)...

The GOOD things & changes you're seeing in this mess?

Have seen a lot of families out for walks, etc. Saw more people out ice fishing this past weekend than I had all year, and the weather wasn't even very nice. A little slower pace of life is a good thing for many families I would imagine. I would also agree with Traxion's original post that a...

Time to buy a new pickup?

My experience a couple years ago would mirror this. At first thought I'd go the "lightly used" route and found it was hardly any cheaper than buying new, especially a holdover. Obviously newer vehicles aren't a 'good deal,' you're paying for luxury and the piece of mind of not having repairs...

    Transducer Placement

Thanks for the insight guys. I too would have asked if that setup gives you interference as the info I've seen gives the impression it would. gone_fishing, yes I'll be running two transducers as you describe.

    Transducer Placement

Bought a Helix 7, just looking into mounting the side imaging transducer. Looked over youtube and humminbird's info quite a bit - just wondering if anyone has pictures of how theirs is mounted. Seems as though quite a few of the pictures I've seen show the transducer hanging below the bottom...

    Lake Audubon ice

I'm sure someone will chime in with specific info, but from what I've seen on lakes in the southern half of the state unless you're next to a culvert you're A-ok to even drive a truck on.

    Spring snows

Was in the Ashley area yesterday fishing (Sconis are not fearing the virus it appears btw)...snows started to come across the border when the wind became southerly around noon but just handfuls. No sheetwater around so it looks like it'll be next week until much happens here.

    Spring snows

Took 83 down to Strasburg and headed east, didn't see anything but handfuls of canadas sitting on the ice. The one small group of snows I saw was probably 20 miles east of Hague. Gonna be a while till the mass is here with the forecast.
