Hunting is far down the list when it comes to threats to pheasant numbers. Habitat and weather are about 95% of the equation. Plenty of areas that 10 years ago were plumb full of pheasants that now have next to none - it ain't because they were all shot.

Agree that it's part of the game as long as it's done ethically. Several years ago about a 100 acre roost was holding tons of mallards in an area I hunted; a guy went out there in a duck boat & motor and chased them around and wrecked it - not so cool. I'm not big on pushing sloughs for deer...
Had some incredible mallard shoots on public land in NW MN in the late 90s/early 2000s when I was a teen. Can't imagine how good central ND must have been during that time.
MN still shoots a pretty good number of ducks (I think they still have the highest number of duck hunters) but the...
Very difficult to acquire starting pitching any way other than drafting or trading for prospects unless you pay ridiculously - and even that hasn't been all that successful (Nolasco, Hughes had one good year). Hopefully they can get lucky with another Santana type.
Kinda fun to be relevant at...
I know it's a worn out discussion, and I've been on the side of NDSU staying FCS but this is getting crazy. They're kind of in a tough spot in that they're too good for FCS but making the jump to being legitimate FBS is so monstrous...
Full disclaimer - I'm a UND guy (and we'll be lucky to go...
Game and Fish Summarizes Pheasant Brood SurveyMon, 09/11/2017
North Dakota’s roadside pheasant survey conducted in late July and August indicates total birds and number of broods are down statewide from 2016.

I'm sure they'd jump at the chance but most of those teams won't play them especially now that they've beaten so many of them. It is too bad they had to play an opponent like this, really no value in it. One website had them ranked 559th in all of college football, with 150 D2 and 30 D3...
Didn't realize there was a huntable elk population there...

Guessing you're on the north end of town? Airport is only reporting .86" but I was on the north end for about an hour around 3 PM and it was pouring the whole time.
I don't think I'd call hazing common. At least the type that would rise to the level of criminal activity. I'd be pretty naive to say it doesn't happen at all but I think it's been pretty rooted out for the most part. Probably one benefit of the cell phone age; this stuff always gets videoed...
No doubt it is a weird game. Goes to show if you can change speeds, put the ball where you want it and make the ball move you can pitch at any level. I was pretty skeptical of the Colon move at first, but it is kind of fun to see him just go out there with the honey badger attitude and kind of...
Totally agree. Never could really get in the mood for the August season and now with it getting competitive for fields, no thanks. Used to enjoy the September season and rarely saw anyone out (days when NR couldn't do it). Granted those were my college days and had a lot more free time!
