    Keeping minnows

I've had a scoop of minnows in just a gallon-ice cream bucket since mid-december in a fridge at home. Only 2 or 3 floaters since. Yes, I realize it's bad they haven't been used yet:D Have changed the water 2 or 3 times and taken them fishing a couple times. Pretty incredible how long they'll...

    SB 2315 -Everything's Posted Bill

No doubt the bird hunting/coyote hunting would be impacted the most. I've cut back a lot on waterfowl hunting due to several factors, but one certainly being the problem of finding landowners if you do happen to find birds while out scouting. Making it so every spot you find would fall into...

2019 ND Legislature and ND Sportsmens Etree

Agree. I'd almost never hunt an unposted spot if it's within half a mile of a house without asking. A random quarter 15 miles from where a guy lives is just a wee bit different.

2019 ND Legislature and ND Sportsmens Etree

That is surprising to see an increase in NR licenses even though water conditions have been mediocre at best. Probably also why any time I go looking for birds there are already NR on them. Seemed like until the last few years you rarely saw other waterfowl hunters past Halloween; now it's...

So are we going to set the record?

Methinks our weather is too variable. If we have snow & cold in November - December, there'd be little to hunt come January.

    Dead Stick

Wondering if anyone has any tips for running dead sticks on the ice? I'm pretty amateur when it comes to ice fishing and on a dead stick I usually just throw a bare red hook with a split shot about 6 inches above it with a minnow hooked through the back set on a bobber 6-12" off the bottom.

WTF?? How MN is going to deal with CWD this month...wow!

I'll stick my neck out here. It's a communicable disease that can only be tested for by necropsy. What would be other options to try to contain it?

    MTailor

In the spirit of online shopping, has anyone tried MTailor for jeans? It's an app on your phone that measures you and tailors the clothes you order to it. A little expensive but nonetheless. I feel like I could try every store in town and not find jeans that fit right.

Increase in hawk and owl populations

So few foxes around anymore that I gotta believe coons and skunks have the most negative impact on nesting.

    Cattle in Plots

Can't say I've seen that one but have seen the opposite, where PLOTS signs are still up but it's not in the book or on the app. Wonder if they ask the landowner to take them down if it comes out of the program. I know of one spot that's been out of PLOTS for a good five years and still has the...

    No Trespass Prognostication

Couple other points - I think license sales would go down but not dramatically. Loss of habitat is a bigger factor in that IMO. I've hunted in many areas of the state and have never found a lot of unposted land; I've hunted around 30 days this fall and can think of one unposted spot that I've...

    Cattle in Plots

Thought I've read that they will work with landowners to develop habitat, e.g. tree rows etc. If you look at some of the PLOTS signs closely they say 'Coverlocks' - that might be a separate pot of money though. To the O.P., I've seen lots of PLOTS with cattle in them. Eastern Burleigh...

Isn't that a solid 6 hour drive on a good day? How'd you pull that off?

    60 minutes

The piece definitely came off as pro-wolf, as one would expect from a national outlet, although they did a decent job of getting both sides.

2019 ND Legislature and ND Sportsmens Etree

Very true. Most people who own a quarter or two 50 miles from where they live and don't post it could care less if someone hunts on it. Getting a hold of them can be a real chore. Same goes for the big farmer who doesn't post much.

Which wild game meat tastes the best?

Sliced into 1/2" thick strips or so with a healthy amount of pepper and thrown on the grill for a few minutes, I've fed duck to the pickiest of females. Makes a great appetizer. This is very yummy too: http://www.ducks.org/hunting/waterfowl-recipes-wild-game-cooking/philly-style-duck-sandwiches

Which wild game meat tastes the best?

I would put mallard well above goose & grouse.

    Pats or eagles?

Almost no QB makes it through a career without some injury troubles - Brady blew a knee, Brees a shoulder, etc. Or any NFL player for that matter.
