    Long range scope suggestions

What kind of rifle is this going on? I really like my Leupold VX6HD 4-24. It's SFP though, which I prefer on that rifle because I use it mainly for hunting. I've never actually held one, but people seem to think the Athlon Ares ETR is a very good value, and well under your budget. Then...

    Hunting Dog Names

Thanks for all the suggestions, but you all failed :D. We ended up naming him "Ammo", which was my 8 year olds suggestion. He's been busy chewing on everything he can get his teeth on, and napping wherever he pleases. Training has begun at 8 weeks. He's already good about playing "fetch"...

    MT Combo Applications

Yeah, that CO change was new this year. Now you have to buy a small game hunting license for $81.75 in order to apply + the habitat stamp + application fee. So great, no more $50 preference point fee. Instead, it costs you 90-something. And if you do get drawn, it costs you 90+ more than it...

That's pretty clever, but as I recall, Leroy Brown was kind of a dick and ended up getting his ass kicked in that song.

    Hunting Dog Names

I pick up this little beast next Thursday. The family can't agree on a name. So far they've shot down all of these awesome names: Creedmoor (Creed) 7mm ("Seven" for short) Killer 2A (or "Second") AR So what do you got? Keep in mind it's a male, and I need to be able to yell it at him...

    Which Fieldcraft for moose/elk?

Don't you already have one of these in 6.5 Creed? That would seem to be the answer. The 127 Barnes LRX is an unapologetic killer. Keep your shots within 500 yards and in the vitals, and you'll be fine. If you're set on getting another rifle, I won't blame you, but I don't like any of the...

    Varmintor 4.0/banish 30?

My only criteria is that it makes things dead, but IME, it's sporadic and depends on where you hit them. Centerpunch or ribcage = no exit and hard to find the entry. Shoulder = softball sized hole. Guts = hole so big that most of them are laying on the outside.

    Two and 1/2 Men

Letterkenny is awesome, but I have a hard time explaining why... I guess it's the Canuk banter. To me "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is the pinnacle of comedic banter and crude humor. - - - Updated - - - I was a little too young when it was on, but have good memories of sneaking into...

    Varmintor 4.0/banish 30?

From my 223 AR15, I actually shoot the exact same 50gr Fiocchi polymer tip. I've had good luck with them. I don't recall any getting away, but they will run a bit. I mainly use my 223 on prairie dogs, and that 50 gr Fiocchi splatters them nicely. IMO, you may not find anything that "anchors"...

The time to stock up is now.

Yeah, I can't personally vouch for Bear Creek quality. I just see low prices. However, in my (limited) experience, Palmetto State is good to go.

    Varmintor 4.0/banish 30?

That would be pretty impressive considering Thunderbeast says their Ultra 7 is 134-136 for a 308. I'm trying to find some unbiased reviews / testing of them, but not finding much. There's a video showing it side by side with another longer can, and it sounds quieter, but the guy shooting the...

    Varmintor 4.0/banish 30?

Hadn't heard of them before. Those are crazy-short. The 30 cal is only 4 inches long. I have a hard time believing it works anywhere near as well as a 9 or even 7 inch can. If it weren't for the (ridiculous) NFA rules, I'd give one a try. It's hard to risk a $200 tax stamp and months of...

    Super Bowl Prediction

Yeah, WTF is up with the Corn Syrup thing? Miller Lite has some corn syrup in it...AND???? Now the whole f-ing country thinks there must be something wrong with corn syrup based on a vague implication from a beer commercial. I don't care what anyone thinks about corn syrup. That's not the...

The time to stock up is now.

I like the CCI standard velocity. They shoot well and are subsonic through my 16" rifle and pistol, so they sound sweet through my 223 can. I think I'm going to try the cheaper Blazer brand and if they aren't complete dogshit, I may buy a case. - - - Updated - - - A few guys in ND stocking...

    Varmintor 4.0/banish 30?

I don't have one, but I know Thunderbeast is very highly regarded in the precision rifle world. The problem is, as far as I can tell, they don't come apart for cleaning. That's a problem for me ref: https://nodakangler.com/forums/showthread.php?12106-Suppressor-Point-of-Impact-Shift/page2...

I'm not starting anything. This is just a friendly PSA. Buy a brick or two of primers now, or you may be sorry. - - - Updated - - - Yeah, I forgot about 22LR. Remember when it was impossible to get and as it trickled in, it was limited to 1 per customer? That could happen again. Right now...

The time to stock up is now.

With the 2020 election in sight, I predict another run on guns and ammo, particularly those scary black guns. Right now the market is saturated due to overproduction from the Obama years, which is creating low prices. Those won't last. Currently, you can get a (decent) AR15 for under $500, and...
