    Vets

USMC, 1988-1992. Yep, plenty of fun stories. None of which get aired in such a public forum. Put a couple beers in me though and I just never know what shakes out of the rafters.

    jury duty

I've lived in Burleigh now for 13 years, I suppose I've received 7 or 8 summons and ended up serving as a juror twice. I have no issue with serving on a jury. As someone else put it, it's the price we pay to live in a society not run by bureaucrats who get to decided your fate. I did get...

    High Beams (AGAIN)

Ahh, I have no issue with intelligent discourse. None whatsoever. I believe the point of it not being illegal to run high beams down the interstate and other 4 lane highways is that the State has engineered into their roadway what they think is an acceptable distance between two approaching...

    High Beams (AGAIN)

It ain't a titty sprinkling "passing lane"! By ND law, 4 lane highways are exactly that, 4 lanes for the purpose of driving. It always cracks me up when I hear about a "passing lane". I also hear from people who complain that someone in the non-passing lane doesn't pull over into the...

    Fishing Alone?

This. A good friend constantly whines about me giving him 2 - 12 hours of notice. I guess I can almost sympathize, divorce is quite spendy.

    Work sharp sharpener

Me too, I'd be there a month of Sundays sharpening my mower blades if I tried to use a belt sharpener! Then again, I only mow about 3 times a year. You can get away with that if the dirt is flying when you do mow.

    Death Wish

My ex wanted to do that with the cremated remains of her dog. Only problem is I don't reload shotshells.

    Ditch Ducks

I have woodies, hooded mergansers, Canada geese, mallards, and a teal or two hanging around my pond. Fun to watch! Also have the neighbor's tame titty sprinkling ducks and geese that come over every now and then to visit. Them I might shoot if they keep harassing the native ducks.

    Fussing Babies

The kid had been in for chiro at the one over in Mandan at the gal's place who kinda specializes in pregnant women and kids, but Zantac was the ticket. I think he had to be on it for about 10-12 weeks before he outgrew the need for it. They prescribe a pretty mild dose that is based on the...

    Fussing Babies

If you think it is excessive, talk to your pediatrician about acid reflux in babies. Yes, it is a real thing and can be easily taken care of with Zantac by prescription for an infant. It was a WORLD of difference for my son!

    Wormwood!

To my west is cropland, so weeds aren't a big issue there. To my south, the neighbor has the same problem as I have with the baby's breath. We were going to tackle it simultaneously. He's a commercial crop sprayer by trade (pilot), but I don't know if he's an expert on the chems themselves or...

    Wormwood!

Another crap-ass weed that is really prevalent at my place is baby's breath (that ornamental weed florists give with your flowers). What is a good spot spray recipe for baby's breath? Someone, anyone?

Question of Devils Lake elevation pits farming versus fishing

Which treaty prevents the movement of water from one watershed to another? A person should send a copy of that to the Canadians.

    guess on the mo fishing

I am pretty damn sure that the guys with the gill nets are able to catch fish all day long when those of us using a hook (of any kind) are going home empty-handed. I have personally seen it myself when I worked for a commercial fishery chasing carp on Sak and Audubon. We'd pull a 500 ft...

    Little Minneapolis indeed

I wonder if'n he had kin in Grand Forks? Sounds a HELL of a lot like my former neighbor up there. The ex and I called him "Freaky Scary Neighbor". On the other side of the house we had "Skanky Ass Bitch". Uggh, the good ol' days.
