    Tip up box

Loosing fish was also one of my concerns, but we will see what happens. Building a few of these just gives me something to tinker with in the garage before freeze up happens.

    Tip up box

I'm planning on only taking these out with my perm. They would take up too much room in my sled or on my wheeler. If I'm driving the pick up out, I would take them too.

    Tip up box

They are called bite me boxes. http://www.boxtipups.com/. I currently do the half moon wind break and use the round insulated tip ups. It just seems that if the fish are finicky, the standard tip up half covered in snow trips the flag so hard

    Tip up box

I know it's a little early to start thinking about ice fishing, but I wanted to see if anyone else was using a tip up box to keep their tip up holes open etc. The ones I've seen are about 14"x14" wood box with a rattle reel and heat source. There is a company out there that wants $100 for these...

    Lowrance ice fishing

From everything i have read, the tri-beam is hands down a better transducer than the proview. I wonder why you can't by the 28 with the tri-beam? I spose its vexilar's way of pushing the proview.

    Lowrance ice fishing

Mate you using a proview or tribeam transducer on the 28? Looking to upgrade from my 20 to a 28 and heard the proview transducer was lacking in shallow water

Thanks for the info. I guess I will just take 8 down to 12 and across. I always enjoyed driving 1806, but I guess not this time.

Well this is going to get interesting

I'm headed down to mobridge tomorrow. Usually take 1806, but just curious if it would be faster to take a different route. Pulling a perm so I don't want to have to turn around or something stupid. Is there a information point now instead of a check pt

    Christmas Blizzard

Wife is a RN so she has to try to get to work. Chest high drift all the way in front of the garage door. My work pickup is out in the driveway so we try to take that. Made it 3 blocks. Had to get out and shovel out a path twice. Finally shoveled a path to the side of the road and parked it...

Was out off long creek on sak about 200 yds on Saturday. 4-5" of ice. Did see a perm back up in short creek so there must of been more ice back up in the bay.

    Ice House Build

The floor is 1/2" CDX with 1 1/2" of spray foam underneath it. The spray foam took the sponginess out of the plywood. I spose once i get my gear in there, full propane tank, cooler etc it will weigh about 2900. Right now it cranks up and down pretty easy. I make sure to grease the pivot fairly...
