    Bismarck/Mandan Ramps?

Dock was pulled from Fox Island ramp yesterday morning 12/22/2023. Thanks and kudos to Bismarck Parks and Rec for keeping it in as long as they did.

    Costco VS Sam's Club

I scored some long sleeve HUK shirts a couple years ago at Sam's for less than $20/each. Meat is consistently good quality and low price so good place to get pork shoulder if making deer or elk sausage.

    Winterkill Aeration

https://www.kxnet.com/news/local-news/winterkill-in-lakes-what-napoleon-did-to-save-the-fish/ Found this interesting. Didn't know the locals had done that there. Did a search and saw the NDGF fishing waters directory notes winter aeration occurs on a couple lakes.

    Favorite Christmas movie/show

Mixed Nuts starring Steve Martin Ernest Saves Christmas Both are Thanksgiving movies but for winter holiday travel flicks it's hard to beat Dutch starring Ed O'Neill and obviously Planes, Trains and Automobiles

    Rifle Scope?

Tempting for sure but either one of those for $299 would indicate low quality. $299 for both should remove any doubt that it's crap.

    Mercer county deputy killed

The guy who is quick to tout his "strong moral and family values" as justification for supporting failed policies like outlawing abortion and continuing the drug war had one son drink himself to death before 40 and another son has now killed an officer and ripped apart another family. A lot...

    $50/yr for Navionics mobile!?!

Navionics continues to disappoint. $50/yr to use the app is insanity. It appears maps saved for offline use are still viewable for now but everything else is gone unless you subscribe at the ridiculous new rate. Unfortunately I was not aware the change was coming and did not have much saved for...

    Hazelton Boat Ramp Status?

A friend went down there on Nov 29 and said it was iced in. Have to believe it's solid ice but haven't been there myself in a couple weeks. Marinas around Bismarck are a solid 4 inches as of Dec 1. It's 100 yards of shallow slack water from the hazleton ramp to the channel so just don't see how...

    Car insurance company

Lightning strikes can generate significant induced currents and differential voltages in everything from power lines to small electrical systems. Induction happens even to ungrounded systems like a vehicle on rubber tires. May help to compile some weather data like this...

    Oregon conservation

Areas of national forest closed to motorized vehicles for 3 months during the toughest time of year for wildlife seems like a good and reasonable measure for wildlife and sportsmen.

    Power Tool Batteries

No need to run down lithium batteries before charging. If they will sit idle in storage for a while it's best to not store them fully charged. The name brand tool batteries and chargers have logic circuits to optimize charging such as not attempting to charge when batteries are too cold or too hot.

    North dakota tunnel

Haven't taken the time to visit when out that way but have heard it's worth it as described in the article. Thanks for the reminder.

    Farm Bureau Boy

Didn't listen long so didn't catch that part, but I was listening when it was clear he isn't familiar with the tag and photograph rule but criticized it anyway. That is a very reasonable accomodation the NDGF made a couple years ago to simplify things for hunters that can't drive a pickup to...

    Farm Bureau Boy

I happened to catch that part of the show and he was clearly joking. It was part of a jab at NDGF. The gravel roads are definitely soupy in many places and prairie trails are likely worse.
