    If I were to head out for lakers I'd go to Duluth and fish Superior or Sioux Narrows on LOW Ontario. Both places have'em and if you limit early, there are other target fish species available to fill the void. That and I like the change of scenery.

    Here in Valley City, the storm dropped a half inch of rain, gave us a SPECTACULAR light show, shook the house with continuous thunder, and scared the crap outta the dog. No damage so we dodged a bullet and all is well at Fort KDM. Hope everyone else came through OK as well.

    We like Honeyberry Jam as well and I know exactly what you mean about the Merlotesk flavor. Here is Mama's batch for this year. She ended up with 29 cups of "stuff" for jams and jellies. It doesn't suck.

    Those big webs on the tree tops were probably tent caterpillars (Lasiocampaidae). I HATE them things. Most spiders don't put webs in trees. To windy. The trees/leaves/branches move to much and the webs get busted up. Tent caterpillars will strip mine a whole tree of just about all it's new...

    This entire thread is why I don't go over 30 mph with my boat. I CAN'T SEE those darn logs and other crap in time to do anything if I go any faster. Worst thing I've almost hit while on plane was a floating picnic table in DL. Talk about neutral buoyant and a boat wrecker.
