The 360 imaging seems pretty similar to Humminbird's. The motorized pole seems neat, but I don't know about $2000 neat. If you have the cash to put the whole system together, it would be pretty cool, but these prices nowadays are staggering.
I think I'll be sticking with what I have, but it's...
I just found this Youtube channel. It is surprising how many videos they have, and how stupid/careless, and down right illegal, some of these people are.
Here is an example of one of their videos.
The Youtube channel is: https://www.youtube.com/@ArrestCamFW
Suckers will be legal bait, on the big waters, again. I think they said Sak, Oahe, Missouri River, DL and Stump.
I am happy to see this change, personally. It was always a bummer, throwing those big suckers back, when chubbing.
199 Contiguous River Miles
The Sheyenne River Water Trail is in the process of becoming a Nationally delegated Water Trail. With 199 contiguous river miles from the north end of Lake Ashtabula to the east end of the Sheyenne National Grassland, the river trail caters to ever level kayaker and...
A couple of us made it out to the big lake, yesterday and today. Found a couple of easy limits and some nice weather. Catching fish in the boat in December sure does shorten up winter.
We were in the New Town area, fishing in about 30 fow. Caught them on jigging raps, shadow raps and...
The fishing this weekend was a nice uptick. The previous days of wind certainly helped. We found our fish in 25-30 fow, pulling cranks. Flicker minnow 9's produced all of our fish, and we had to pull them a little slower than usual, at around 1.8 mph. We caught a lot of fish and the ratio of...
I have been at the cabin for more than a week now. The fishing has been solid. It hasn't been gangbusters, like it was in early June, but it has still been very good. The fish are definitely into their summer pattern, being spread out and mostly deeper. As of late, we have had our best luck...
I woke up, yesterday, and had the boat ready by 6:30. My stomach was a little off, so I went to use the bathroom before heading out. Well, that turned into a full day of the flu. Or maybe it was food poisoning. I did have some gray meat at the China Star the night before. A guy can get sick...
Heads up! Good defense!
I know it's no laughing matter when the hooks connect, but my uncle got lucky on this one ... so, it's hilarious!
Anyone else have a close call like this, or have one connect??
Three of us fished the hook this morning. We put in at Parshall Bay, then cruised out to graph some of the island shorelines. We had luck on Probst, Moore, Fox, and a couple of others. We were sitting in 6-10 fow and casting to the shallow side. Some of our fish were in 2-3 fow. We started the...
My daughter and I were at the cabin Thursday evening through Monday evening, for the Memorial Day weekend. We decided against going to New Town, and instead stayed in the Van Hook Arm area. On Friday, we scouted the Shell Creek area. We caught a few nice walleye in 1-4 fow, and a pile of big...
Three of us were out in the Newtown area on Friday. That day, the morning temp was 37 degrees, and the barometric pressure was spiking. Nonetheless, we were in it to win it. We were chilled to the bone in the morning, so we decided to try and find fish close. We checked beacon and some other...
Well, three of us got the go-ahead, from our wives, to fish on Mother’s Day. We put in at the Newtown Marina. The water temp in that area was 46 degrees. We checked a few spots, as we worked our way west, toward warmer water. We tried a gravel shoreline once we found 52 degrees, but no luck...
I think I ask this most years, but not all. What is it you would like to focus on this year? It could be something you hope to improve upon, it can be a new tactic altogether, perhaps a new species, or even new bodies of water, among other things.
This year I planned on pitching or cranking...
The number of people fishing went through the roof, during covid. I'm wondering what this year will be like, now a couple years removed, and the state of the economy suffering. I'm sure plenty of people will be getting out there, but will it feel noticeably less? I'm kind of thinking so, but...
Has anyone had to deal with it? I developed a case of tennis elbow, last fall, after WAY too much jigging rap fishing. I thought it had gone away, over the winter, but while we were up on Lake Winnipeg it flared back up.
Now, if I do one hookset with my right arm it sets me right back to...
Going through everything, and it made me wonder how long I could continue to fish if I never bought another lure.
Years? Decades? Forever? Ha!
How long do you think you could?
