The only reason i’d to lund over the nitro is the option to be able to remove those side storage compartments in the back. I think aside from that I would be a nitro man. Kid has a ZV18 and it is an awesome boat. But for me being able to take those compartments out is nice. At least for when a guy pulls cranks you have more floor space to be able to get to fox holders mounted to the gunwales. That being said I have never had a boat with them in there and maybe I would find it’s not the problem I think it would be. I don’t think you could go wrong with either boat so id say get in them both and dig around and see which one fits your desires the most. I do know the nitro has some really features not found on other boats. Even the net has a great storage spot

I do like that those storage pods can come out in the Lund like you said... with being able to do that the Lund has crazy amount of space...the bow is huge to... I've been walking around them both going back and forth... I would be going with a used boat

I went with the Lund, i compared the two side by side and hands down the Lund was a better boat. The removable pods are nice, the snap in carpet is nice, the seats are much nicer and the fit and finish is hands down better in the Lund.

go for a ride in a Warrior V208. I have been in the above and if you have to choose between the 2 the Nitro is a better ride, but if you go out in 5 footers in a v203 or v208 you will not even consider the other options. Call Jake Stewart at Mild to Wild, he will take you for a ride!!

Did you end up going with the 202 or 219

Sawyer,
Both great boats! It really comes down to personal preference and what fits your needs. I do not believe you can go wrong with either of those boats though. The removable sides on a Lund is pretty slick. That said I have a horse shoe and I could never go without one now. Too nice having everything neatly organized and stowed without tackle bags on the floor.

If you do look at getting a nitro make sure they have updated the windshield. They have basically had a recall to remove the screws that hold the window frame together and went with through bolts. That's the only issue my son has had with his Nitro was the windshield and they have been great about addressing it.

The Lund would be more unique. Nitros just seem so cookie cutter and might not hold value as good as the Lund brand

There's not a single Fiberglass boat in the 20' range i'd be afraid to own. They are all pretty solid and each offer something a bit different. Shopping now, and all are impressive. if you are narrowed down to lund and nitro. go climb in them, sit in it, hell pretend to fish out of it. Try and go for a ride in one. Don't think you can go wrong. As mentioned, nitro is coming out with a 20' version which i think would be ideal. That lund 202 has one pretty sweet layout. only problem with both boats is it doesnt appear you can get a yamaha.

I don't think a guy could go wrong either.... I've been climbing around them checking out what I like and dont like.both seem nice. That Lund does have a lot of room especially with being able to move those storage boxes.kinda thinking I'm leaning towards the lund but would like to try and get a ride in both

Last year they had Honda and ???? motor options on the Build a Lund section of Lund's webpage. I see they have now replaced it with a "no motor" option, which means you can order the boat and have a dealer put a motor on it. I'm guessing there's a bit of a premium involved with going this route, but you most certainly can get something other than a black motor on a Lund. I'd also surmise that given how loyal/hateful people can be of the different motor brands that you would always be able to recoup at least some of that additional cost. I am reasonably certain that by the time I can afford to buy a new, or next to new, Lund that I'll also be willing to spend a few extra bucks to not have a black motor.

^ Allen, so far...and I'm knocking on wood here, I love my Merc 150 Pro XS on the Impact. I had zero issues with the 2016 Merc 75HP motor I had on the Tracker before this. But I think you are right...just like the Ford/Chevy/Dodge truck debate, guys will be convicted on the which boat motor brand is best topic. Just the nature of the beast...personally, kinda think on the newer (last 5 years) 4 stroke motors, you could make a case for any of them. Might have more to do with how a guy runs the motor/stores the motor/services the motor as opposed to the brand?

Yeah, I think we are all susceptible to brand preferences based on a few bad experiences.

Take me for example, I've never owned a Dodge and yet because I have had friends who did and I've had to drive some for work over the years, no auto manufacturer is responsible for more miles on my boots than that maker of junk. No way in hell can I even consider owning one!

Funny...my dad was a Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth guy going way back. We had a 72' Plymouth Satellite with a 318 in it. I learned to drive in that car...passed my driving test in it..."raced" with it (didn't win much). He had a Challenger and a Cordoba. Never understood why he loved them. I was shocked in the 90's he bought a Ford Escort to commute in...never drove another Dodge again.
