What do you guys consider should draw for muzzleloader tag points, I've been thinking that for 3 years now and I give up guessing how many points it should take, I'm sitting with 9 points this year and I still feel I won't get one, one of my friends drew with 4 a few years ago so I don't put to much thought into preference points anymore.

I know multiple people in the 9-10 range. I drew last with 4. This year would be the year a guy would really want them with the season later. Gives a little more time for deer to group up depending on weather...

U want to start another debate? Why the hell should gratis guys get the opportunity to use muzzloader every year? isn't their 3 week glory tag enough time to get their deer?

I got a tag with 8 pts a couple years ago. I'd think you'd have a decent chance of getting one.

I'm thinking today around 3pm we might see some results. That would give a couple of days of emotions to calm down before the NDGF are back in the office, likely filtering out hundreds of calls from pissed off people.

I have 10 pts for Muzzleloader and I'm not holding my breath......I heard rumors that some when looking up preference points see that they are successful in the 2017 deer lottery?

My hunch is that G&F is taking longer to scrutinize legitimate gratis tags. When tags were dime a dozen they probably didn't worry too much about it. Now with deer tags worth more than North Dakota crude, well, I guess I'm alright with them taking their time.

First time but I called from a warden to verify my land. Glad they are doing it tho.

I just did this on my wife's and says 2017 successful. Had a coworker check his and said still pending, had a different coworker check his and said successful. Too scared to look at my own!

This has been the case in years past and it didn't always ring true when it was all said and done. I cant believe they just don't take the entire system down until everything is complete, updated, and double checked.

This is one of the reasons why so many get pissed and think the system is rigged or flawed. Because in the past people have checked early and said successful only to be denied a day later. They also have the points change to 0 or a number less than what they actually have, making people question did they draw a tag, did they get as many chances as they were suppose to??, etc.

All the same stuff happened in MT this year as well. These states need to use some common sense. Don't update the online system until everything is complete and verified. Maybe you will then portray some confidence in what you are doing.

Because those "gratis guys" nurture those deer 365 days of the year. Complaining about a landowner having a gratis tag is the same as complaining about the guys working at the sporting goods store getting a fishing rod for 60% off of cost.

It's a perk for being in that line of work.

Like being a bartender at Hooter's. You get to enjoy the "scenery" from day to day.

..... but What percentage of deer do you think are shot on described/qualifying land as indicated on their licenses??

I'd say the percentage is high especially in ND where people invest into their deer hunting with blinds, feed, etc. Its not 100% because I'm sure there are some that believe the Gratis tag is a State Wide Tag but I'd still say it is a good percentage.

I strongly disagree with that. I grew up in a small town and I honestly think more gratis tag holders shot their deer OFF their land than on it. Yes there were definitely some that only hunted their land but so many of them did not.

My prediction for me this year. 0 points for a rifle tag and only 1 point for a muzzy - looks like I will be fall fishing and bow hunting. No anticipation needed for this guy.

I think you're onto something, might be that the result is showing up on preference points on rifle and it's still pending on muzzie??
