I would be fine with one year of an antlerless tag and one of an "any" tag. Multiple years of doe tags with the deer population the way it is does not make sense.

Re-read it - archery is still an any tag. It had been talked about making it antlered only but not happening this year.

Well then they must be reading this form because it just got changed.

They literally changed it a moment ago. I have both sets of regulations pulled up in different tabs on my screen as i type.

I hope youth could be buck only. Be pretty neat if my 14yr old daughter and 11yr old daughter could shoot bucks and even neater when I get to take pictures of both of them successful.
Plus our doe population sucks so I will be attempting to find that button buck for the 11yr old anyways if possible.

I’d like to see us keep youth opportunities but maybe don’t start until 14 . Then buck tag until out of high school . Shouldn’t be a doe shot in this state for years

You have to understand what is set by statute and what game and fish can control. Youth deer licenses are mandated by century code. Game and Fish doesn't have the ability to not issue those licenses.

Dates - yes, age limits - no, they are set in statute. The original youth doe season was for 12 and 13 year olds to experience hunting prior to getting a buck tag at 14. There have been multiple changes to it since but they are changes that have occurred legislatively in the century code so G&F is bound by them.

The original was 14 and a one time deal . In about 94 or so
