Lund rebel 1650V tiller NOW with a Yamaha pro50 2 stoke. Wife's uncle gave us the boat which we had to pick up in Texas. Well worth the drive. You'll find me in that or my dads Lund fisherman 1700 with a Yamaha 115

I about fell out of my chair, reading this post. then I realized that it was 4 years ago. I've known you for four years already? I've seen you drop a Stella, a phone, and a very-occasional f-bomb. Never seen you drop a walleye, or a deuce. Let's keep it this way.

Restored 1981 17' Glastron, 140 Johnson. I inherited it from my grandfather when he passed away. Stupid boat is a money pit.

Sawyer,
5575 or Fisherman25 what kind of speed are guys getting from your boats ?

I am just starting to play with props. I know I’m poorly proped currently but my peak speed is 59. Tourney load, full gas etc I’m around 55. The funny thing is for all the 62 mph boats there are out there I generally run right with the pack.

That said, if I prop right I think u can find a peak or around 61-62 with tourney load 58ish. A jack plate would be nice too.....

Weird how everyone's boats are 60 mph boats until your running right with most of them at 55 haha. Even the 63 mph boats will only beat you to a spot by a few seconds unless your traveling over 20 miles then it's only a couple minutes.

On Lake Sakakawea, running north, and not downstream on the river with the current pushing you along.

Be carefull who you question, there are a few of us that know how to set a boat up to run, and run well. That boat is now in Billings with a new owner. Best part, powered by a lowly 200 Optimax..........

I'm not sure what prop I have. I've never had to worry about it before. How much do they really matter? How many mph could a guy possibly improve?

Depending on how poorly you’re propped. 2 mph easily. Potentially even 3-5 mph. It’s not a big deal for most people and matters less on a 10 mile run. When you’re talking 40 miles or more one way, it can add up then. I don’t necessarily need the most speed out of mine. What I’m looking for is a quick hole shot, minimal slippage and to rev out close to 6000 rpm.

2-5 mph isn't worth it to me. I get out of the hole fine. Loaded up with two guys and two dogs we did 45 mph in 2 footers last year. I would like a full windshield but goggles have helped a lot.

I started out 30 years ago with a 14 foot Montgomery Wards boat with a 7.5hp Crysler. After several years I upgraded to a 16 foot Yarcraft side console with a 75hp Merc. Awesome boat, ran it for many years. Three years ago I upgraded again to a 1860 Ranger with a 150 Yamaha. The Ranger is great....would like to see what a Yarcraft of comparable size is like someday.
I have heard great things about the 186TFX. They look like a great boat, with a lot of room behind the consoles.

Yuk, that's a long wait! IT felt like the longest winter ever after putting money down on a new one late last summer! can't imagine starting that 4 months earlier, lol.

So the better question AaronJ, I know your not going to go without this summer, what's the flavor for the 2019 season?

For those asking about the Yar-Craft 186, I loved mine. Lots of room behind the windshield, fished and handled bigger than your typical 18 1/2 ftr, dry ride, and fantastic performance! if anyone has specific questions, feel free to PM me.

My flavor for the season is the 1988 single console. I put a new 90 4 stroke on it, new Bird on bow, and new Terrova with MEGA DI built in anticipating no new big sparkly this season.

I may beg, borrow, or steal for a few chosen days but have a lot of hours on this old Yar. For the size it is an amazing little boat.

Damn, I ordered a 209 in 2017 and was kind of kicking myself thinking I should have waited for the new cap. Guess I would have really had to wait, haha. Hope they are worth the wait, but unfortunate they didn't inform everyone of the delay before. Feel bad for their dealers this year.

It has been a struggle for sure. I knew that I may be in the situation I am in; but many did not. In hindsight I should have ordered another 209; but didn't not knowing if it would be next up for refresh which may have made it harder to sell this fall. This is first world problems and I haven't lost any sleep.
