I don't believe the committee met today to vote on 2137 or consider amendments. NDGF is down to its last gasp saying 2137 will take away their authority to manage diseases like Tuberculosis and Brucellosis. Not the truth. Shame Shame.

Back Country and Farm Bureaucrats should have a duel, at least we would get rid of one. If we were lucky they would take care of each other.

Both can only think of their agenda and to heck with everyone else. They oppose agriculture and Farm Bureau opposed everyone who doesn't greet farming with an open wallet.

NDGF thinks people need to give up supplemental feeding on private property. The flavor of the year is CWD. Back in 2005 it was Tuberculosis in deer and domestic cattle across the border in Minnesota.

BTW PG, your old coworker at the federal US Geological Survey David Brandt was a director of ND wildlife federation back in 2005 and is still to this day. And is a director with Backcountry Hunters and Anglers.

It is clear Chairman Todd Porter and Vice Chair Dick Anderson want to derail the intent of the Bill. They want to amend it with bucket sizes of feed and yardage set backs.

If they want to do that they should have wrote their own Bill instead of trying to hijack 2137.

When Game and Fish did their Habitat Summit December 17, 2024, Porter and Anderson were on the stage. They can always be counted on.

Looks like more mental midgetry going on in our legislature. If I read the current bill correctly feeding also would be illegal winter, spring, and summer. People have interfered with nature so much it's not self correcting anymore, but then populations are boom and bust when nature does perform. The new generation of biologists many who are non or even anti hunters need to understand Bambi and Wind in the Willows isn't real.

Turns out there has been an overwhelming negative response to Rep Andersons amendments and has all sorts of supporters, both hunters and non hunters up in arms about this. There has been significant public pressure from his constituents and others towards him and the committee that it is rumored that the proposed amendments will be withdrawn.

Let’s hope that is the case as the way they were written were borderline anti-hunting, benefitted only large tract land owners and circumvented the voice of North Dakotans who fought to preserve the ability to feed wildlife in the toughest months to help wildlife thrive in this extreme climate.

Please contact your reps and ask them for a Do Pass on SB 2137 as it was presented to the house, without any further amendments! It takes all of us.

Absolutely I think most of them actually do.... make some calls or send some text and you will see your voice actually does matter but without contacting them they don't no and yes there is a handful that it doesn't matter to but think there is alot that do listen have you ever reached out to any?

I have reached out to both city and county commissioners multiple occasions and every time my voice fell on deaf ears. Look at what they do with Initiated Measures passed by voters, they chop them up and bastardize them. They are even trying to change the term limits that were passed by voters.

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Amid the controversy of Burleigh County Auditor and Treasurer Mark Splonskowski, Commission Chair Brian Bitner is now named in a petition to be removed from the Burleigh County Commission.

The petition, which we acquired from the Secretary of State’s office, says that Bitner demonstrates “abuses of power” and displays “contempt for the voters of Burleigh County.”

Bitner is in disbelief over these allegations and cannot understand how a normal person could reach this conclusion.

“I’m the least concerned with power of anyone I know. I’ve been a leader my whole life. I don’t have to prove anything with abusing power. That’s ridiculous,” said Bitner.
