I don't think anyone justifiably "hates" it. A lot of Fudds hate on it because "my turdy turdy killed 'ery deer I shot wid it. I don't need me no Creedmore".

I wouldn't talk anyone out of buying another gun, but you should probably start with what your goals are for it.

Thinking of getting a 6.5 Creedmoor, any thoughts or advice? I now some love this cartridge, and others hate it. Is it worth having one?
I have a couple of them. I loaded up some reduced loads for a niece last fall using Hornady 95 gr Vmax. When the girls shot it they said, it doesn't kick at all. She shot her doe at just over 180 yds and it ran maybe 50 yds. I personally never shot them at a animal. But shooting at paper they do shoot good. And if you handload you can load up to 156 gr.

I got all the Creedmoors. The 22 is my current favorite.
The 6.5 is a fine deer cartridge. Plenty of people have used them with success on elk as well.

If you're looking for a mild-recoiling deer cartridge with long range target potential and nearly unmatched industry support for both rifles and ammo, it probably can't be beat.

Got one in a Savage Axis w/ cheap Bushnell 3-9 BDC that I won and it just flat out shoots almost any kind of factory ammo I have tried in it, couple weren't as good as some others but still minute of coyote at the very least. Walked it out to 350yds with Factory Hornady 140gr ELD-M this fall and it just hammered the 12" steel plate and stayed no worse than MOA usually.

Won a Weatherby Vanguard in 6.5 Creedmoor through the NTA sweepstakes. Was pretty excited to win, but had stayed off to the side of the love it or hate it arguments and knew very little of the ballistics etc. Ended up putting a nicer Vortex scope on it and have just shot paper with it. I quickly became a fan of that. It is a tack driver. Once it has killed something, I will fully make up my mind.

Look at eurooptics. They have 6.5 creeds on sale made by Sako. Two different stock options. That's where I got mine. Love it...such light recoil. Kinda like shooting a 243 I suppose. I just used hornady eld-x bullets this past season and was great on deer. And damn tack driver on paper. Same hole couple times.
